I am 5 ft 3 in. tall and I have so much trouble finding jeans that are not too long. Petite/short is too short but reg. is usually too long if I wear flats. They always drag the ground. DD15 suggested cutting them. I never thought of that.

What do you do to make your jeans the right length (buy a certain style, roll them up, cut them, etc.)

Do you mean vertically challenged? :lmao: :lmao:

I was trying to picture what you meant by horizontally challenged, and could not think of anything DIS-appropriate?

Denae

Edited to add - I am 5'5", and most normal jeans are o.k., but I can only wear boot cut jeans with boots. When I go outside in the winter time, I have to roll up my pants.

I'm not petite, but my MIL is. She takes a lot of her clothes to a tailor and has them altered. I don't think it costs too much, and sometimes drycleaners do alterations.

Oh, to have your problem... I'm 6'1". I have a 36 inch inseam. It's hard to find them long enough! The clothesmakers of the world assume "tall" women are no taller than 5'10". :sad2:

Wait! I have an idea! You cut the extra off your jeans, and I'll sew it on mine! :rotfl:

I'm with you on this too. I am so tired of wearing heels all the time with my jeans. I just want to wear tennis shoes with my jeans. I hate my pants drag on the ground. When I buy jeans I usually by short but they are still to long and I hate how petite jeans look on me (makes my butt look to big:lmao: )

I'm 5'3" also. I have found Tommy Hilfiger jeans are perfect if you can find them in ankle length! I buy up as many TH boyfriend ankle length I can find. I love their fit. All TH jeans come in ankle, regular, and tall. Ankle is perfect for the short set!

I'm 5'3 also.

I had to buy some new jeans due to weight loss and I've had no problems getting petite jeans that fit me.

I bought my last 2 pairs of jeans (1 black and 1 blue) at Kohl's. They fit perfectly.

Good luck!

I'm on the taller side, but a lot of my dress pants (and a few of my jeans) are too long. I frequently take things for alterations. Usually, they figure out the length I need one pair based on the shoes I want to wear most (if I'll be wearing heels and flats, I bring both) and then hem them all to that length.

No big deal!

I am also 5'3". Now I look for regular capris, especially ones that are already rolled up a little. Then I cut the treads holding up the rolled part, unroll and voila`, jeans I can wear my Crocs with. :lmao:

Try being barely 5' tall. I've never, never, never, in my entire life, found a pair of jeans that weren't too long. Usually I have them hemmed, which sometimes costs almost as much as the jeans cost.

I should also buy stock in the company that makes iron-on hem tape. I think I've single handedly kept them in business over the years. With pants other than jeans, I usually just chop them off myself and use the iron-on hem tape on them.

Somebody needs to open up a clothing store for hobbit-sized people. I'd be first in line.:rotfl2:

I am 5'4 and I have the same issue with jeans from certian places. I have cut the bottom of of a few pairs of jeans but most of the time I just hem them or roll them. I have even just walked on them until they have holes!

What do the bottoms look like when you cut them. Do they fray?

I'm not sure if this would work for you, but I'm also your height (actually, 5'2 and 3/4 :goodvibes ) and I shop for jeans in the Jr. Department! Some are still a bit long, but not too bad. I can't see me spending the money or the time to have them hemmed!!! I've also bought some at Express before that have worked - one pair I remember cuffing at the bottom sometimes, if I was
wearing lower heels. Although, I must say - I NEVER wear flats. At this height, hey make me feel too, well,--flat.

Good Luck - I feel your pain.

I just don't bother unless I can find them with a 28" inseam. I'm 5'2" but I have VERY short legs - 26" inseam. I'm completely out of proportion - I'm so long-waisted that I need to buy talls in shirts in order to get 27" back length!

I'm a big supporter of Land's End. They will hem them for you! I buy on clearance, and then the prices are reasonable. They are also very good quality so they last and last!

I'm also 5'3" but I don't have a problem with pants being too long. A 31 inseam is perfect for me and I try to buy pants that shows what the inseam is.

I am 5' 2" and have had great luck with Lee Rider jeans. They come in a "short" length and I never have to adjust them at all. I have found them in JC Penney, Kohls and other stores, but they are cheapest at WalMart.
