Question for vertically challenged women!

of course that's an option, but looking for an easier and/or cheaper route. Clothes are already expensive enough as it is!

I found a place by me that is $8 a pair of pants to be hemmed. They look just like if they were normally my size to start with. It takes her a day or too. You might want to call around.

I am 5 feet and peite or short normally fit me pretty well.

Like tkd lisa said, lands end will hem them for you (but I tend to wear more hip jeans then theirs lately.)

I have found that pant lenghs are longer since heels with jeans are in style now. I just got a new pair of heeled boots and love them, but I don't want to get them all yucky in MI winter so I continue to ware my all weather Lands end mocs. ;)

You can get Mavi jens in a 31" inseam and i've seen Manager jeans with a 29" inseam. I used to cut my jeans off when it was "cool" to do so in the 90s, yeah, the bottoms frayed but it made pants shopping so much easier. Now that cutting your jeans (and plaid flannel shirts) are out I absolutely despise jeans shopping, I'd rather go to the dentist!

I have the opposite problem - I am 5'1" and I have trouble finding jeans long enough. :rotfl: I have long legs, so Petites are usually too short, and a lot of non-petite jeans don't come in a small enough size to fit my waist/hips. Since you are a bit taller than me, our legs our probably about the same length. Brands that I have found that I can usually find something that fits (because they come in lengths and a good range of sizes) are Tommy Hilfiger, Calvin Klein, and Old Navy. I also have a couple pairs of girl's size 14-16 that are the perfect length.

I just spent $54 at the seamstress on hems...

I'm 5'4" and I LOVE Levis Bootcut 515 short. They are lowrise. Did I mention I love them?

I'm 5' 4 1/2". I am too tall for many petite brands but way too short for regular-length pants. (To the person who said "hem them"--I cannot find regular jeans that fit because I wear a size 6P and regular jeans would need to be a 2 or 4 to fit, plus the proportions are all wrong in regular size clothes, PLUS when you hem pants as much as I would need to hem them, the taper changes and looks funky :confused3 ).

I have found that Macy's Style & Co and INC petite pants and jeans are usually long enough to look good and short enough that I don't have to hem them.

shoot, I'm shorter than all of you apparantly!! I'm 4'11 and have this problem all the time. I just suck it up and pay the money to have them tailored. I have found that jag jeans fit well, I do have to hem those a little and gloria vanderbilt and land's end short (I got them from sears) didn't need to be taken up at all. However, I do love wearing me some heels with jeans, so........... Aidensmom, I've just recently discovered that those jeans work for me to :scared1: My daughter will be in my closet any day now :rotfl:

OHHH do i feel your pain.

i'm 5'2 and i was blessed with these...these...HIPS.

as a result i have to buy my pants a size larger to get them over my hips. this creates 2 problems. 1.) they're way too long because i have to buy the next size up and 2.) once they get over my hips they hardly ever fit. i'm the queen of belts!

i bring my dressier-work type pants to a tailor, but for my jeans i just fold the bottom up. It's hard work finding just the 'right' pair of pants and when i do -- i buy at least 2 pairs! :rotfl2:

my last pair of workpants came from a GAP outlet and my last pair of jeans came from BOSCOVs. i also occationally find things at KOHLs.

Good luck!

ME TOO! I'm 5'2" - 32" inseam - size 4-6 (someday I'll stop this 10 lb. yo-yo;) ) My legs end just about at my chin! Sometimes I can find jeans in Jr. dept., but I don't do super low rise and I can't always find mid-rise in that dept. I can't wear petite pants (too short, and for some reason they all seem like super high waisted Mom jeans anyway), can't usually wear "regular" pants (don't come small enough). I actually own 6 pairs of the same dress pants for work in 6 different colors because I found some that fit! I'm really sick of those pants, but I can't find anything else.

I'm 5'2". (Please don't call me short - I prefer to say I'm on the 'low end of tall' :rotfl: )

I have good luck with jeans from The Gap and Old Navy. Occasionally I even find something in the Juniors dept. at Kohl's.

Not to hijack the thread, but has anyone ever done the Levi's made-to-order thing? I've read a few magazine articles about it, but would like to hear 1st hand experience w/it. If it's a good thing, maybe OP could try that?

I wear capris instead of pants a lot because of that. ;)

4 11" checking in and i can't find ANYTHING! before the babies, i used to just buy my jeans in the kids section :scared1: but now i'm nooo where near a kids size, sooo i'm having the impossible problems of short lenght still being TOO short! soo i wear heels with eVERYTHING!

I'm 5'2" also. I use to love Lerner New York's petites, but they seem to have gotten too short the past year or so. I'm must have really short legs, I like my inseam to be 29-30". Lately, I've been wearing shoes with heels. I'm trying to stay above my 11 year old DS! :rotfl: It's not working real good lately. I've never had jeans hemmed, but I always have my skirts hemmed. And no I don't have a sewing machine, wouldn't know what to do with one either! ;)

I am just ober 5' 3".

I have found levi's fit OK. I have the big hip prblem too. One thing I don't understand is why they thing that if you need an bigger size then you must need them longer too. Petite are a tad too short for me and I cannot handle wearing pants short enough to see the color of your stocks when standing.

I'm 5"3' also and I buy jeans with the short length and they fit me fine. Maybe you should try on different brand jeans and see which ones fit you better.

I am 5 ft 3 in. tall and I have so much trouble finding jeans that are not too long. Petite/short is too short but reg. is usually too long if I wear flats. They always drag the ground. DD15 suggested cutting them. I never thought of that.

What do you do to make your jeans the right length (buy a certain style, roll them up, cut them, etc.)

I would give anything to be 5' 3", I am only 4' 11 1/2" I HAVE to add that 1/2 inch so I don't feel so bad! LOL

Me too!!!!! I am 5'2". These are the only jeans that I can find to fit exactly like I like them. I went to the Mall this weekend and got me 2 new pair to wear to WDW in a few days. Happy to see that I am not the only one that's a "shorty". LOL

No one owns a sewing machine anymore?????
I can answer that. Nope.

;)

I considered buying one once but even if I did, I wouldn't know what to do with it. It's been a while since junior high home ec, which was the only place I ever used one.
