I've worked full-time at the same job for about 10 years. We have pretty good medical insurance and we used to have dental coverage before our contract was re-negotiated 3 years ago. I can't afford out-of-pocket costs because I'm in a financial hole. I'm still paying for my faimly's medical bills from a few years ago. I make too much money to qualify for aid, so I've been trying to save any extra money I can so I can actually afford to go. Its not even close to cover what I'd need. I should have gone to the dentist a little over 2 years ago when I fell with a hard candy in my mouth. I broke one of my molars pretty badly. But since that was about the time my family passed away and right after I lost my coverage, I just couldn't afford it. Now the same area just started hurting. The tooth is throbbing and my jaw is swollen. It hurts so much its affecting my daily life. The ER here has a dental clinic, but I don't qualify. The closest dental school is a two hour drive away so even thats out. I can't imagine driving that far after what I assume is going to be an involved procedure. And I don't even have anyone to drive me. Its just me and my 2 nieces now. So, Is there anyone out there in a similar situation? How/where can I get treated? I just wish I could find a dentist that offered a reasonable payment plan.
