Question for those who've been to WDW and DLR

On, I think that for this year you will be glad you have chosen WDW. With the Rivers of America closed, along with many other attractions, DL isn't looking its best for a first-time visitor. Have a great time!

While I agree with this....a bigger factor for me might have been the weather. June weather in SoCal is pretty fantastic. Enjoy your trip though....congrats!

Go to DLR. It's the 60th anniversary, and it's really cool right now. WDW you can visit anytime. This is a really special time for DL, and obviously, it's a special time for you too. Blue Bayou is a fantastic place to eat, the New Orleans section is a wonderful and special section of DL, Carland is worth the price of admission alone, Trader Sam's is a great place for snacks and drinks (and the Trader Sam's here is really not as good), and overall, I think you will like it for a very special trip. When I turned 30, we went to DL, and had a GREAT time. I had wanted to go to WDW and stay at the Poly, but I was soooo glad my parents and brother talked me into DL. And stay at the Disneyland Hotel if you can. It's so so very Disney. And Goofy's Kitchen is the best character dinner I've ever had. The food was delicious - so many offerings - and the character interaction was great. They even give you recipies to take home (I love the peanut butter and jelly pizza). For many people, they like staying in the bubble that is WDW. And that's nice. But, still, DL is very cool. And if you want to take tours, they have a great tour there that I took - reasonably priced, and we even got to see a little bit of Club 33! Oh, and did I mention that you can take your Dole Whips into the Tiki Room? We got Dole Whips during the tour, and snacked on them while our tour guide explained Disney's love of the Tiki room.

And, as one person told my mom, WDW is the cubic zirconia. Disneyland is the Diamond. And as much as I love WDW, I really have to agree. Go.

Thanks all for your input. The deciding factor for us was the cost of airfare/length of flight. While we really do want to experience DLR, we're going to WDW again. June 27-30 staying at POFQ. We're probably going to take the opportunity to do one of the behind the scenes tours that we couldn't do with our little ones. DLR next time!

Enjoy your trip. My vote was for DLR too. It's really cool, especially if you have already been to Disney world 4 times.

When we went to WDW for our 20th, we did the Keys to the Kingdom tour. I really enjoyed it. My dh had read a lot of books about Walt's life so much of the info was not new to him but he did still enjoy it.

Have an amazing time! We went to DLR for the 60th last summer (spent 7 nights) and loved it. The rides are amazing, the shows were fantastic! But unlike many here, my heart is at WDW :) Maybe there is something to the idea of the whole Disney bubble. I did miss the entire vacation experience of WDW.

Just got our tax return money back, paid off the trip, booked the airfare (under $800 r/t for 2), and booked the keys to the Kingdom tour. We also upgraded to deluxe dining so we could experience some higher end restaurants that we hadn't been able to do before. Got California Grill and Hollywood Brown Derby. The other part about flights was that we would lose at least one park day flying to California as opposed to Orlando
