:D Hi,
I am planning our trip to wdw in late Nov./early Dec. and have a question. I figured in our budget that it will really only be about a $500 savings to us to drive instead of fly so we would really like to keep that option open. I can't book airfare now, however, since I haven't got the money yet. I would like to book our hotel now since I do have the money for the deposit and I have found a truly great rate.

My question is should I book the hotel starting for Sunday Nov. 28 or Monday Nov. 29? We will go for 10 nights and come home either a Wed. or Thurs. I am just trying to guess which day I would have a better chance at an airline deal. If I can't get us tickets under $220 a piece than we will still drive. I am leaning towards getting there on the Monday since I would think the Sunday after Thanksgiving should be a VERY busy air travel day but a friend told me that Mondays are also bad to fly out on since business travelers usually leave then. What do you all think :D ?

I think you'll get a better airfare by waiting until Monday. I flew down on Saturday PM this past year as the flights on Sunday were much higher. If you want to save even more, there's always waiting until Tuesday, which is always a lower fare than Sunday.

:D Thanks for th reply. I was also thinking about waiting until Tuesday but then our return would be on Friday which I thought would be bad. Decisions, decisions. Sometimes I wonder if anyone else stresses so much about each and every detail...

We chose to fly down the Saturday after Thanksgiving last year and paid $181 a ticket from Boston. The airport was fine. No big crowds.

I'd either fly out Saturday or Monday.

Have fun!

Something I learned last year: the FRIDAY after Thanksgiving is a very slow travel day! You may be able to snag a good fare departing that day. Much lower demand than Saturday or Sunday.

We flew out last year EARLY Friday morning. Flights were pretty full, but we booked less than 2 months out and paid $200 r/t. We also flew back Friday night late and once we got past the lovely storms in the N/E, the flights were practically empty. I think everyone on the plane had their own row.

We flew home from mco to mht on swa early the friday after Thanksgiving the plane was sold out but everything went super smooth and we paid around $220. 00 r/t.
