Question for those who use taxis to get around Disney

There are a few of nights I will be tempted to splurge for a taxi. Can someone give me a ballpark figure about what it might cost? One night is AKL to POP. The next is WL to POP. And the last is Fort Wilderness (Hoop-Dee-Doo) to POP. Thank you! Without a taxi, I am guessing it would be bus AKL to AK to POP....Boat or Bus from WL to MK to POP.....and bus to Epcot or MK to POP (Do they run buses to the resorts from Hoop-Dee-Doo??)

There will be 3 people (Do taxis charge by the person??)

We've found taxis are the best way to go when going from resort to resort. Most runs from POP cost us about $15 w. tip. Most we ever paid was $20 to the GF. We've even used these at park closing when the bus lines get just ridiculous. Cheaper than a rental car and I don't have to drive! I don't think they charge by the person (we've always been a family of 4).

Which HDDR are you attending. The 2 late shows usually have buses to take guests back to hotels(one bus for several hotels). The buses are lined up just to the right as you exit the show. If you choose to use a taxi you will still need to go the the bus stop and catch a FW internal bus back to Outpost, taxis are not allowed into the campground. If MK is open you can also ride the boat to MK then catch a bus to Pop from there.

We take cabs every trip.

From AKL to Pop, guestimating, about $12-ish including a tip? I know Movies to AKL was about $9 for us.

From WL or FW to Pop... could be around $22-$24 with tip, perhaps even a little more? That would be including tip. And who knows, could end up being closer to $20.


Last trip we did POFQ to GF - and that was $18 including tip.
Then did GF to ASMovies - $23 it was with tip. ouch!

But for us, sometimes it's worth it. We pack a lot into our schedule and if taking a 10-15 minute cab ride versus an hour plus with transportation and waiting and one resort to park to get bus to our resort... sometimes having that extra time is worth it to us! Also.... we don't rent a car (obviously, if we're taking cabs), and for us to take 2-4 cab rides per trip, we feel it's better than renting a car.
Sometimes we get lazy, like last trip at Epcot - way back in the World Showcase and too lazy to walk all the way up through FW and out to get the bus - so just went right out the internation gateway, couple minutes later were at BC getting a cab!

For WL or FW - I would look into as others have said, taking boat or bus to MK maybe and then to Pop.

Definitely would do the cab AKL to Pop, though.

I took a cab from Boarkwalk to Fort Wilderness for Hoop-De-Doo and it only cost us 12.00. I did see buses afterward to take you back to your resort but I was at the 7:15 show.
