Question for those who have booked with Costco travel

Does Costco travel require the entire payment up front or do they take a down payment with remainder due later like the Disney site allows?

You can make a down payment just like you can with Disney and then pay the rest later.

We have used Costco Travel to book a couple of cruises. One thing to note is that their final payment date is a week or two earlier than the official Disney Cruise Line due date. Not really that big of a deal but something to be aware of.

So - do you pay Costco or DCL directly? I'm used to AAA but will have a Costco opening up soon near me (currently Sams member but they no longer offer travel services).

With AAA, we pay directly to DCL - Well, the AAA TA takes my info, then calls DCL to make the payment. This would be an issue if you want to pay with a Disney Visa in order to get the additional $50 OBC. How does it work with Costco, since I know they don't accept Visa on their clubs?

I paid Costco with the Disney Visa and the charge on the statement is listed as DCL. Like the previous poster said, our PIF date is Feb. 10, but Costco is charging the balance to our card on Jan. 27. Hope that helps

Please note that Costco does not take Disney gift cards nor the rewards card. I had to pay down our balance directly to DCL with my gift cards first. Then I transferred the res to Costco and paid off the remaining $100 or so with my Visa card (you must have some balance in order to transfer).

Thanks everyone. One more question - for excursions and reservations, are you able to do that through the Disney website after you've made your Costco reservation or do you have to call and do that through Costco?

You can book excursions and everything else through the Disney website. The only things you can't do are make changes to your reservation (like dining times or stateroom location). You would have to call Costco for that.

I called Costco Travel and asked them exactly what to put on the form. If memory serves, you don't list a specific agent. Good luck!

Question about shipboard credit/cash cards-is the amt listed on their website for these per person or per reservation?

one card per reservation, the card comes about a week after you return.

Ours worked out to about 8% of the total cruise fare.
