Question for those who have been on The Mummy...

There were plenty of props and mummified warriors that spring out at one point. As far as animatronic (i.e. - robotic characters with moving limbs and facial features) there was only one -- Reggie -- but he was a stand-in for the Imhotep animatronics which had yet to be placed into the attraction.

I read that the animatronics in TMR are the most advanced ever made. Did you see anything like that? Overall, how much of the animatronics and other parts of the ride (effects?) were not yet implemented when you rode? Thanks.
The breakthrough animatronics that you have read about are the Imhotep figures (there will be 2 or 3). The ride is closed now so that they can be installed. They were never up during technical rehearsal.
They will also be putting in the ride's ending -- whatever that may be (this was according to a recent article in the St. Augustine paper) -- and that's a good thing because the ending was the only thing that could be considered a letdown in this amazing attraction.
So I guess we'll all know in 3-4 weeks how impressive these additions can be. Mummy Spoilers has a thorough account of what the ride was like during the technical rehearsal. You may not want to read about it because like most new attractions, the less you know going in the more rewarding the initial ride becomes -- but it probably answers a lot of your questions as to what is currently there.

Possible spoielrs for RotM, beware!
The shaking/vibrating Reggie figure that was there for the TRs of RotM was a stand-in for an actual Reggie animatronic. The giant box (coffin) mummy next to Reggie will supposedly be one of the 2 Imhotep animatronics. The other Imhotep animatronic will be in the fake unload scene. None of these three animatronics were installed for the TR.
Of course this information, is manily my own assumptions based on what I've read, so I could bee 100%, or I could be 100%, or somewhere in the middle.
As for the St. Petersburg paper that talked about the isntallation of the ending of the ride, I have a hard time believing this. I'm fairly sure that we're stuck with the Brendan Fraser video ending, not that thats such a bad thing [ghostly swoosh]

Did you ever see the computer rendition that was circulating on various sites (such as Universal-Excitement.com)? The ending in that simulation video was incredible. Basically, you think the ride is over, you hear the "please grab all children by the hands as you exit your car yada yada" spiel, and then all of a sudden, one of the animatronics takes over, building's ceiling starts catching fire, and you get launched downward into an extra 45 seconds or so of ride. Is this how your technical rehearsal went?

The fake unload isn't the ending. At the end you are welcomed back by Brendon Fraiser. It is confusing for many people because they don't realize that they were "extras" in a new Mummy movie. They didn't watch the monitors in the queue and so most are confused at the ending. We were just hoping that the ending might change somewhat so it is more easily understood. I can't describe the ending in any more detail without getting into spoilers.
The Fraser video clip ending didn't bother me. Well, okay, maybe it did because we logged 6-7 straight rides in the last hour one night.
No, my beef with the ending has more to do with the actual Med-Jai symbol. As few people who realize the plot of being cast as an extra, even fewer riders realize the significance of the Med-jai symbol's salvation and the demise of Imhotep's plans to secure your soul. It happens too fast and it is just not explained well AT ALL.
If the system isn't in place to slow the vehicle down at that point to absorb a longer closing sequence, then at least tack on one last Imhotep being vanquished at the site of the Med-jai symbol (having a "Noooooo!" at the last Imhotep isn't enough as the symbol comes in after that so it's not as easy to grasp).
There is an easy fix to all this. I'm hoping in time they will come up with a more elaborate and meatier solution to the ride's only flaw (IMHO).

For some odd reason, Imhoteps lest gasping of NOOOOOOOOOO! is one of the highlights of the ride, I have to quote it almsot everytime I ride.
I do agree though, that the NOOOO! followed by the random appearance of the Med Jai symbol happens all too quickly for the guest to digest it all. Hopefully this will somehow be fixed by May 21st. I must say though, that for me, this is minor complaint.
