Question for those that have already used the 2008 DDP

I asked this somewhere else, but have yet to get a response. If I get the Dining Plan and got to a Table service can I use my room key to add on an appetizer and tip if I choose, or will I need to use cash for that?

Yes you can use your room key to add on appetizers (or anything else) and your tip. That's how we handled it at the beginning of the month.

Believe it or not, tipping with the KTTW is actually a bit more "normal" and easy when you add items like appetizers which are not covered by the DDP or DxDDP. When you have an additional charge, you get two receipts - one for the DDP and the second for OOP. On the second OOP (presuming you've charged to a credit card) you can add your tip normally to the "tip" line. If your check will be 100% covered by the plan, be sure to tell your server you wish to tip using your KTTW *before* they take your KTTW (if they don't ask) - you must let the server know your tip amount before they take the KTTW in this case. If you only get 1 DDP receit totally zeroed (this sometimes happens if the server doesn't recall you have the DDP), there is no convenient way to pay your tip using the KTTW after this point, short of speaking to a manager. To cover this scenario, I'd suggest carrying some cash, in small bills, to pay for the tip.
