Doesn't the Disney Visa card give you the option of 6 months no interest to pay for your Disney vacation? Someone had posted something like that on here one time. My husband is thinking about getting one and we were curious if that 6 month thing still exists.

If so do you still have to pay monthly payments, just no interest is charged or can you wait 6 months before ever paying anything on it? I am confused a little.

I have a Disney Visa, but haven't used it when booking a trip, however I just called yesterday for a friend with your same question. They do in fact still offer the 6 months 0 interest, as long as you book at least one night at a WDW hotel, along with at least one day park tickets, spending from at least $100, up to $10,000 is what I was told.

The card allows for 0% financing for 6 months for packages. I booked my package on Feb. 26, so I would have had until 8/26/12 to repay the $200 deposit. I charged the remainder of my trip on 4/26/12 and my bill says that my 0% period on that amount would be up on 10/26/12. I paid the bill right away, but I don't think you have to pay anything on your 0% package monthly, but I always pay my Disney card in full every month, so I have never had to deal with any type of interest issues.

You do not have to pay anything on the 0% financing part of your bill for the entire 6 months. ON the bottom of your bill it will tell you exactly how much balance is left on your special financing of 0% and the exact date it expires.

However, if you use your cc for other purchases -- and like to pay no interest by paying your bill each month -- you can do that ... by just paying the amount of your purchases for that month. They will automatically apply any payments to your outstanding balance from purchases. If anything is left over it is deducted from the 0% financing portion.

Even if the vacation is the only thing that you put on your Disney Visa, you will still have to make the minimum monthly payments as calculated by Chase. If you make other charges to the card, then the minimum payment will be applied to those charges first.

Someone on another thread suggested using the Disney Visa to purchase groceries once a month while you have a vacation charged to it. The groceries should exceed what Chase would calculate your minimum payment to be. Then just pay off the groceries when the bill comes and the vacation balance remains the same.

Does anyone know how the free financing part works?

I mean I understand if you book a package you get the 6 months 0% interest. What if you have other expenses on that card?

Just for example. Say my trip is $1400. I purchase other things with the Disney Visa, say $500. So I have $1900 on my card.

Statement comes I pay the $500 + $500 towards the trip leaving a balance of $900. Do they figure in that the products that are NOT part of the free financing get paid off and will not charge interest or would I get charged interest on the remaining $900?

This post sums it up for ya.:thumbsup2

Six months, no interest for packages and cruises. for example, if you put down a deposit in July for a cruise, you have six months to pay that deposit. if you pay the remainder of your balance in November, you have 6 months from that point to pay off that portion.

Wow. I see I shouldn't post before the coffee kicks in. haha.

Thanks, I was hoping it worked that way.

Here's another question for the experts:

I booked a package May 31st before the ticket increase and paid $200 deposit on both reservations (had to do 2 separate b/c the CM couldn't get both rooms on the same reservation) for a $400 total. I do not have a Disney Visa, but would like to get one for the sole purpose of getting the 6 mo 0% financing and the $100 GC offer. My question is...will they let me use that offer on a package that I have already booked but not paid for? I'm hoping to get that offer and use it before payment is due in full by 10/26.

Also, as for the points you receive...does the package you book count toward your Disney reward points? or is it just other purchases? And if so, how long does it take before you're able to use those reward points?

Everything you use the card for counts in your rewards.

One more question, can you use Disney gift cards to pay your monthly Disney visa bill (and therefore the trip that is booked on your card)? Just thinking ahead and wondering if I can do that (and buy GC's through Target w/ 5% off debit) to pay for my trip.

No you can not use Disney Gift Cards to pay your Visa Balance.
