We changed a previous ressie to (month removed), now with the way gas is going up, and a trip already planned to Destin in (month removed), we are thinking it woudl be best to put this trip off. Part of our ressie in (month removed) has points that have to be used by (date removed). Can I offer this part of the trip for rent? From what I read I cannot post this until 30 days out. In this case we are due to check in on (date removed), so I could not post until (date removed)? Can I respond to people who are requsting a ressie for that time period? If so, and they woudl like to rent my ressie, how do I change the name on the ressie, and if all of this is possible, how does the payment occur? .
Thanks for your help.

Edited by Moderator to remove dates per the 30-day rule for offering reservations for rent on the DISboards.

To answer your question, there are a couple of ways you can go.

One is to respond to "Reservation Wanted" ads on the Rent/Trade Board. It's probably best to do that by PM anyway, and that way you won't be advertising the dates in violation of the posting policies. Responding to Reservation Wanted ads is probably a lot easier than placing your own ad.

The other way is to place a "Points for Rent" ad offering the number of points you want to rent. I wouldn't put the expiration dates of some of the points, because it just clouds the issue too much. If someone responds for a ressie beyond the expiration of the points, you just tell them you don't have points available for that time period.

Once you make arrangements with a renter, you can just cancel your reservation and then book theirs.

If you rent your existing reservation, you just call MS and change the names on the ressie. You'll need each guest's name, address, age, etc.

Also, if your renter wants DME or DDP, you will have to make those arrangements with MS. MS will not speak to the renter.

My situation fixed itself today, a coworker has been talking about taking her daughter this fall, so I offered her the reservation. She is so excited about staying at AKL. Thanks for the assistance
