Question for someone who has stayed at both ASM and POR

Last year we stayed at ASM way back in the Love Bug section. Now I usually don't mind walking, but after a long day at the parks it seemed like a really long way. There were times when we would have liked to use our refillable mugs to get a night time drink but we were just too tuckered out to walk all the way back to the main building. So we never used our mugs. This year we would like to stay at POR and I am considering requesting the Magnolia Bend Area. I have looked at pictures and the map and it is hard judge the distance. Can someone who has stayed at both resorts give me a comparison on the distance. Is the Magnolia Bend section as far away from the main building as the Love bug section? Thanks

Stayed at both. Not nearly the walk at PORS. It is a much nicer resort, too.

I disagree, some of the Alligator Bayou are quite a haul from the main building. Never stayed in a Magnolia building, but they do seem to be much closer. Only buildings I've ever stayed in at ASM though are Toy Story and Dalmatians, and they are both fairly close to the food court.

A request is just that. You may end up in the POR "hinterlands" which would make the Love Bug at ASMv section look like it's close.

I've stayed in both Love Bug and in POR Oak Terrace mansion and I'd say the walk would be very similar depending on the actual location of your room in the buildings. Getting a refillable drink when we were already at our room was not something we'd just go out and do in either resort.
