Question for smokers...

I havent flown in about a year or so... im using magical express to get to my hotel and i dont know if i have to pack my lighter in my checked suitcase or if i can have it in my carry on... what has been peoples experiences with this? I get into mco about 930 so i planned on checking into the hotel and then hitting the parks... i know for a fact that i cant go that long with out a cigarette...

Guess that you missed the brou ha ha here and the roasting of the smokers when this change was announced on the boards a few weeks ago

and I will proudly say that I do carry a lighter all the time, I am not a regular smoker any more, but I do enjoy a cigarette every now and again, so feel free to roast me or run me off this website

Thank you very much for the info i was getting worried about what i was going to do.. I did miss the roasting of the smokers and glad of it i get roasted enough as it is at my job about it...

well, you may have escaped the last roasting, but not to worry - I think that the roasting of the smokers is a monthly event here! RUN while you can!!!

I don't smoke any more but DH does. He'll be glad to hear he can now take his lighter - the last few trips we've taken the amount of matches the airline permitted and purchased a very expensive lighter at an airport shop or at one of the Disney gift shops (they don't publicize that they have them, you have to ask at the register like you do for cigarettes).

Well the previous "ban" had to be one of the most inefficent ever!

My mother has traveled ever since it was implemented with a lighter in the outside pocket of her checked luggage. It was NEVER even moved...... So much for that great screening!

(Of course lighters are not the problem. EXPLOSIVES were the problem. But the TSA as usual does not deal with the REAL issue! LOL!)
