Both sides have been sowing the seeds of eventual legal challenges by going on and on about vote suppression, registration fraud, caging, miscalibrated voting machines... I don't think there will be many who trust in the outcome of this one.

I agree. I work in downtown St. Paul - right by where the RNC was. The whack jobs that protested were way out of hand. I can only imagine if Obama loses - it will be pandemonium.

If nothing else - seeing them all act like savage beasts made me realize I don't want to vote along the same lines as they do - thus my vote going to McCain...

Re-education Camp has more of a "Maoist" connotation most recently seen in the former Republic of South Vietnam, where the idea was to reform people like me (you know, Free folk) into socialist subjects through labor.

Touche. I was only taking the evidence on some threads here that claim that Obama will be sending us all to re-education camps...a la Adolph Hitler. I know many of us have seen them.

Re-educations camps were actually prison camps...whose aim was to get revenge on those that dare oppose them. Repress those that oppose us...and indoctrinate them with our "accepted ideals".

The theory underlying these camps has its roots in Maoism...you are correct.

The aim of such camps was to maintain control over the thoughts of its prisoners.

Estimates of deaths in such camps ranges from 500,000 to 2 million.

Psssst. It's not nice to make jokes about the horrors and oppression that came out of re-education camps. It's not nice...and it's not funny.

Drawing comparisons such as these does nothing and is meant to do nothing but to incite fear and hate...and only further divides the people in this country.

If Obama were to win (personal feelings about him aside) how do you think you will review the results? What I mean is, you may hate him, think he will destroy the world, not react correctly in a crisis, etc but do you feel like the results will be fair? With all the Acorn discussions and the obviously hate this election has generated on both sides, I am curious if republicans are already thinking that the results are going to favor Obama because the whole thing was rigged to begin with?

I should point out that I am bringing this up because a republican friend and I were talking about this tonight. She said there are "credible sources" out there that are already taking steps to fight the results. She claims to have read many articles about this. I haven't seen word one about it myself.

a win is a win. i will not dispute anything. no one is going to steal the election. i will congratulate my friends that i know voted for obama, and continue to work even harder to pay for the tax increase that i know will be coming to all of us.

Life will go on, people will piss and moan, and it will be much ado about nothing, just as it was in 2000. Once someone is declared the winner that's the way it will be.

I actually see more issues if Obama loses then if he wins.

He didn't know it was being recorded, we shouldn't hold him to those few candid thoughts. After reflecting on the meida take, he did come out and change what he "meant" to say. That's what counts.

To answer the op's quesition. If Ob wins by a small margin I will always be suspicious that it was due to fraudulent votes. If it is by a larger margin it really won't matter to me. I hope he looses.

I certainly have concerns about the validity of these election results, but I'm not drawing any conclusions until we see what happens. I really hope that the election isn't that close. I would like to see a conclusive result no matter which way it goes. I would hate for people to lose faith in our election process.

I too want a clear victory one way or the other. No more extremely close elections -- especially with one candidate winning the popular vote, but losing the election. I want one candidate to win it all.

I am not one bit happy about the shenanigans that ACORN has pulled. Everyone associated with them should be ashamed. However, it would/will be fairly easy to convince me that any election result is legit. One major reason is that I believe a failure of confidence in our nation to hold fair elections will be a major step toward the end of the country. I will bite my tongue about my take on what happened in the aftermath of Election Night 2000.
