In the Disney Cruise gifts pamphlet it has fruit plates and cheese/cracker plates that you can purchase to have in your stateroom when you arrive on the ship. Maybe I misunderstood but I thought that I read on these boards that you can order those items from room service. All hands on deck being a selection of cheese and crackers. Can't you get fresh fruit on the ship from room service or somewhere. Maybe I'm cheap but I don't see paying $20-30 for something that is already there. Someone please tell me if I misunderstood. Are these foods available or should they be purchased ahead of time? Any information is appreciated. TIA. :confused3

Yes, They have fruit on the ship at scoops and you can order cheese and crackers through room service, probably even the fruit. I think the items in the brochure are more for other people to send you Bon Voyage gifts or anniversary gifts etc...
I know when I send gifts on board it's never a food item.

Those flyers are for bon voyage gift baskets. There is tons of fresh fruit at Scoops all day and of course at meals. I ate so much fresh pineapple on my cruise I lived to regret it!

la37, there will be a wonderful buffet to enjoy after you board. Definitely no need to order anything extra.

I have ordered the chocolates and spumati for my daughters as a bon voyage gift in the stateroom and this was about $35 or £19 for us as we get an excellent exchange rate at present. :umbrella: as it is still raining here in England

I will have to double check with DH to make sure he didn't pay for it (I'll wring his neck if he did!!!), but he had the All Hands On Deck waiting for us when we walked in our stateroom for the first time. When questioned about it, he said it was because I told him it was a must-have. (well, at least he listens!) :) I didn't see any charges on our stateroom bill, but that isn't to say he didn't pre-pay. We'll assume there wasn't a charge but if there was, I'll post back.

You can order the All Hands on Deck platter from room service -- at no charge (except tip). However, I don't know that you can order room service before you sail -- anyone know?

Our flight was late, we didn't get on the ship until the last minute. We missed lunch and were starving and it was REALLY nice that dh had ordered a fruit arrangement and other goodies to be waiting in our stateroom. We were absolutely starving, tired, stressed, and disoriented (first cruise).

But, ordinarily, I think it's something you can skip. Unless you can get someone else to pay for it and surprise you with it!
