Hi

We're off tomorrow , have one last question to ask!

Did you feel comfortable going to TL and BB? I have read the waterparks aren't very full right now, some people have said they are downright empty which is good to hear! However, it will take a bit of courage to get me into a waterpark and a swimsuit in public! :teeth:

Have any 'pooh-sized' disboards members been to either TL or BB and what were your experiences? Did you try various things and were they ok?

Allearsnet has a couple of reports on the waterparks but I'd love to hear from anyone who has been recently.

Thanks!!

I've been to TL and have been able to do just about everything. For me, Orlando/WDW is the best place to feel less self-conscious about how you look in a bathing suit because, truthfully, no one cares or bothers to look twice at you. You are on vacation and there to enjoy yourself! There are so many people in all different shapes and sizes! Plus, chances are you won't run into anyone you know and you'll never see these people again, so go for it!!! JMHO.

We were there in April and there were lots of pooh-sized people at the waterparks. It's not a pooh-size/thin thing - some like the water rides and some just hang at the chaise lounge all day.

TL just looks like so much fun, i'm going to have to try it. Not sure about those little tube things though for the lazy river...do those come in various sizes?!!! :goodvibes

I had a great day at TL. I must admit I was very worried about it. I was happy to find that the lazy river had several sizes of tubes and had a great time in the wave pool. I am not a water slide fan so I can't coment on those but rest easy there were many pooh sized people there that day.

i also read you can wear those swim shorts ect. so don't have be be totally uncovered ( that would be a boon for my uhh "posterior")

I think it depends on how Pooh sized you are. I've seen some larger guests get stuck in some of the slides. The new blaster slides at TL shut down if the guest doesn't go down the slide fast enough. It assumes there is a problem.

You really need to use the handles to pull yourself up so your bottom doesn't drag. Some guests do it so they can a faster ride, larger guests may need to do that so they don't get stuck.

I was pooh-sized when I went 9 years ago and still had a wonderful time at TL. (BB was closed for refurbishment at the time) I had no problems at all. Thanks to WW, I'm no longer pooh-sized (but still pooh-shaped, darn it!!). I'm going to Disney in two weeks, and I don't think that there will be anything that I'll be able to do this time that I couldn't do last time in any of the parks. Have a wonderful trip and don't worry about a thing.

we spent half a day at TL a few weeks ago and it was fun and fine (and i'm about a women's size 24... dh makes me feel petite and he had no problems either)... we did everything we wanted, fit on everything with ease... the crusher gusher warnings to keep your bottom up are serious though, 'cause it could hurt (she says from experience) if you don't!

When we went to TL in 2003 I had just had gastric bypass 6 weeks before so I was very large. It was the first time I had been in a bathing suit in over 10years. I got over my embarrassment right away. It was mostly families, small children and I saw numerous people my size or larger so I wouldn't woory about it at all.
We leave in 22 days for our next trip and since I have gained my weight back I have been on Atkins diet trying to lose a few before the trip.

Thank you all for your honest responses, I am definitely going to give it a go! I won't be trying the waterslides anyway because I hate heights but am really looking forward to the lazy river, shark reef and the wave pool!

Am off in 15 hours, am so excited!!!! :moped:

Thanks again! :wave2:

I am pooh-sized, and me and my daughter rode in a double float on the lazy river at typhoon lagoon. No problems whatsoever! We had loads of fun!! Hope this helps!

Only 7 more days to go! Whoopeee!!!! :dancer: :rockband:

I personally think that everyone is so wrapped up in their own little disney worlds that they don't pay a bit of attention to anyone else...at least I never do! GO...HAVE FUN...DON'T WORRY SO MUCH! We are all lovely women! Watch the weggies though! OUCH!
