This may be a strange question, but have you found another resort that you like as much as the poly. Were trying BWI and BC next month to be close to the food and wine, but I am having a hard time getting excited about it. We have tried akl, pofq and csr for 1 night only. They were ok for one night, but that was enough. I was just curious if any of you have found another resort that you like as much.

We just came back from a week at the YC and loved it! We've stayed at the Poly several times, but I think the YC is now our favorite resort.

We did go over to the BC a few times and it seemed a lot more hectic than the YC. Especially in the evening with a lot of people waiting to get into Cape May.

I've always loved the Poly and still do - but BC has replaced it as my favorite place to stay. It's just so convenient to Epcot, which is our favorite park. Sometimes our room location is so close to the Epcot International Gateway entrance we feel like we are still in the park! Rooms are light and airy - compared to Poly, where I find now that the rooms seem very dark - sometiimes almost dank because it's showing its age. While I do love the grounds of the Poly, and Captain Cooks is much better than the BC marketplace - I love having the Boardwalk area to stroll around on after Epcot closes. So many bars and lounges to visit if that appeals to you.

We feel exactly the same - we love the location of the BC and the walk into Epcot in the evening is beautiful. I love the BC theme too in the hotel, very bright. We are going back to the Poly next year though as we have been to BC twice in a row :)

For me, WL is right up there with Poly as our dual favorite of WDW. WL can't match the Poly for transportation options, but I think it has a better overall pool (though Poly's slide is better), because it has dual hot tubs, a kiddie play area, a current swimming area, etc. I love Poly's Kona Cafe, but overall I like the dining options at WL more. I'm not a big fan of 'Ohana. Finally, ALL WL rooms have a patio or balcony. Not all Poly rooms have this.

Poly rooms are a little bigger, and of course it has the best transportation options in all of WDW. Poly was also our first WDW onsite resort, so it has the nostalgia going for it as well.

So I have 2 favorite WDW resorts: Poly and WL. We switch back and forth as we can afford it.

Poly was always #1 for us, but lately we seem to always end up staying at Beach Club and Yacht Club, mostly Beach Club lately.

We were getting a little tired at the Polynesian of the overcrowded pool, (I got kicked really hard in the stomach by a little one accidently but still painful), never having a lounge chair, knowing people were there who did not belong there. Thank heavens they are doing the wristbands now.

Also dealing with people flocking to the beach to watch wishes, while that in itself is not a problem as its open to all guests, dealing with the foot traffic if we were in our favorite longhouse (Samoa) was.

Also the buses are the higher up ones and my dh usually just fold ups my wheelchair and brings it on. We really dont like to ask the driver to lower the bus.

Beach Club has the lower buses so that is a plus and also we seem to spend a lot more time at Epcot and DHS so that helps too for location.

We did a split stay in May with Grand Floridian and Beach Club.
Last December we did Poly and Yacht Club
now this December we are just doing the Beach Club.

We love :lovestruc :lovestruc :lovestruc the Poly. I have stayed at AKL and really liked it, but the Poly is my favorite. Something about the transportation options, theme, large rooms and those Lapu Lapu's!

We want to try an EPCOT resort next and are booked at the YC. Here's hoping we like it :flower3:

I do like the look of the yc, but how is the walk to the pool, lobby, laundry etc. We always stay in Samoa which is steps from everthing. Its super convenient to everything pool, monorail, laundry. I think thats what I am afraid of missing at another resort. I like being able to be at captain cooks in 30 seconds to get a cup of coffee in the morning.

We stayed at the polynesian last year and the Animal Kingdom lodge the year before. Of course we loved the polynesian a ton; however, due to us going this year at christmas we needed to cut down on the prices. We love AKL because the theming and beauty of the hotel is beautiful. The room sizes are pretty small compared to Polynesian, but we do like the bathroom set up better. AKL has african music playing throughout, and you will find many neat artifacts around the hotel. The pool is not nearly as neat as Poly, but I have heard you can swim at the kidani pool (which is really nice). The restaurants are great, the animal viewings are unbelievable, and the resort activities are a lot of fun. Hope this helps:goodvibes

we havent styed at the beach club since 2005, but when we go again, we will deffinately be staying there or the boardwalk next time. we loved the poly, but lately the monorail has been having so much problems, and now the hour changes,we would rather be able to walk to 2 parks. the beach club also has a amazing pool. its also close to the boardwalk bakery and beaches n cream. :cool1:

Just got back from a week at the Poly. We are now super spoiled!!! There are so many amazing hotels that I am sure you'll love any of them!

Not yet , doing a split stay in a few days between Poly CL and AK and in Nov we are trying CR and for our VR next Sept Im hoping to do BC so we shall see.. Poly was my dream resort since I was a little girl and I adore it but I am wanting to try a few others...

We love the poly but BC has become our new favorite. After being at the poly it's a nice change of pace. You still get the beachy tropical feel but it's light and airy and has an AWESOME pool!

Poly is our favorite - and I have two that I really enjoy staying at if I can't stay at Poly - the BC and POR.

Beach Club because it is so close to Epcot, Stormalong Bay is such a fantastic pool, and the options for dining are really good at the hotel ( as well as the whole area with Boardwalk and all )

POR due to theme and how local is it to MK, Epcot, HS and DTD.

We've tried many resorts and the Poly is our favorite.....we love everything about it :goodvibes. We love the MK area and love being able to see the castle from just about anywhere on the Poly grounds. We did a split stay at AKL and GF in December and when I was at the GF, I missed the Poly. The GF is a great resort and I've stayed there on 2 girls trips and 1 family trip, but the Poly will always be my favorite :lovestruc. The tropical atmosphere is beautiful, you can't beat watching fireworks from the beach, and the hammocks on the beach are great for relaxing :cloud9:. We have had great stays at all the resorts we've stayed at, but the Poly will always be our #1 choice ;).

We were planning on the WL this year since my DSIL and DBIL were joining us. We stayed there for our honeymoon and loved it, then tried some moderates, and ended back at the Poly for a one year "treat" but they locked us in.

Well for some reason I was hesitant to keep our reservation and moved all of us over to the Poly. As much as I do like some of the other resorts...Poly feels like a home away from home. I am in Disney.

I absolutely love the Polynesian and I'm not sure anything can compare to that. Right now I am trying to decide for next year if I want to try something new or stick with the Poly and it's a very difficult choice. I was thinking staying in the Epcot area might be nice for a change, and in the Epcot area I'm most drawn to the BWI, however I'm nervous about getting to the BWI and then wishing I was at the Poly!

Hard decision, I think there are just to many great resorts to pick from, it makes the decision making process a really hard one.

Regardless of where your room is in the resort, all the places you mention in your post are definitely not as close as Samoa is to them at the Poly. The Marketplace (quick serve) is all the way at the other end of the BC, so it is a walk from the YC (no more than about 5 minutes though - and the walk is either inside or covered - no worries about rain). Except for Hurricane Hannah's near the pool (burgers, etc.) every dining area (at both the BC and YC) is accessible without going outside. The bus stop at the YC is very close to the lobby door, so that is convenient. Even though things may not be as convenient as at the Poly, we really liked the YC. The pool beats anything at any other WDW resort (but you probably already knew that) and they are very good at checking resort IDs to use it. One of the CMs checking IDs said they turn away 150 - 200 people per day because they are not staying at either the BC or YC. He also said that on July 4th they turned away over 350 people!

We do like the Poly, but the YC was great. We stayed CL and the CMs at the Regatta Club are fantastic - and they don't lock up the lounge at night, so you can get coffee, tea and soda. The CL CMs at the Poly should all have to work at the Regatta Club, for a few days, to see what really great customer service is.

Will we stay at the Poly again - probably. Will we stay at the YC again - definitely.

We ADORE BWI!! It is so bright and cheery! I love that no matter how many guest are there it doesn't feel crowded. The atmosphere is so positive and festive.
I love the Poly and I am dragging DH there in 2 weeks so he can get a taste of it but I assume we will return to the BWI for future trips. It's an all around crowd pleaser for us...easy access to Epcot and HS, multiple restaurants, great pools, and on bustling nights the actual boardwalk is an attraction all it's own!

BWI was the only hotel I hadn't stayed in as a child so for our honeymoon (and DHs first trip to WDW) I went out on a limb and chose it! Best decision ever! I was worried...especially since it was our honeymoon...but I wanted something new for the both of us and it was a wonderful experience!

Whatever you choose...Have a great trip!!
