We changed our reservation and are now able to stay at POFQ for our upcoming trip! :yay: It's our family's super most favorite mod, so we're all excited about the opportunity to stay there again.

Previously, we've had a "standard" view room, which is certainly fine by us, but this time we have a "river" view room.

I'm curious about two things:

1) What exactly does "river" view mean?

2) With a "river" view room, is there a specific building I should request over another?

TIA!

Building 2 or 5 if you want to be close to pool and/or the main building/restaurant. They are great but can be loud. If you want quiet, pick building 6. It's a little more isolated but is the closest to POR if you plan on walking there via the pathway.

I know you've already gotten great answers, but just wanted to chime in and say that river view rooms are wonderful :goodvibes

We love POFQ and always booked standard rooms. Well, upon arrival one time we got some pixiedust: and found out we were upgraded to a river view room. It was so nice to walk out on the balcony and see the boats going up and down the river, or to watch them out the window!

Disney knows what they're doing because before I never would've been thought about paying more for river view! Enjoy!!

I booked a riverview room at POR on a solo trip two years ago and I will gladly agree with you. I pulled my chair out in the walkway, just inside the doorway and watched the water taxis go by until the last run and it was heavenly. What a way to end an evening.

My BF and are are staying at POFQ for the first time ever in April 2013 and really can't wait, it looks beautiful. Do they object to people sitting on the grass by the river. I can imagine myself there on a 'non-park' day :-) thanks

We've stayed at POFQ twice. Our first visit we had been pixie dusted with a river view room. It was so nice. I do love that resort.

I actually think they do mind you sitting in the grass. I thought I saw signs asking guests to stay off but, I could be mistaken. I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong. :) Although, it being Florida and all, I try to avoid grassy areas as I'm never quite sure what else is hanging out in there. Have a wonderful stay there and don't forget to take the boat over to DTD. It's our favorite perk of staying there.

The river view from building 5 is nice but loud as it's closest to the pool. We like building 4 closest to the bus and parking lot, but 5 is best for river view, pool, and closer to boat access. It is a little further from food court when you crave a late night beignet.....
