I have had an online Blockbuster rental membership for over a year now. I was thrilled when they added the option of exchanging dvds from the online program for instore rentals. I am confused about one thing, though. I thought that when you return a dvd from the online program in the store, not only do you get a free instore rental, but the next dvd in your online que (sp) is automatically mailed out. I returned 2 movies this past Tuesday. I just checked my online account, and nothing has been mailed. Is this how everyone's account works, or are they just behind in sending out movies? Maybe they are overwhelmed with customers switching from Nextflix?

I just switched from Netflix also. I returned my movies at the store, rented new ones, and they shipped our next set out. I will say that we did the return on saturday night, so the new set did not mail out until Monday

Honestly I think that they are allowing you to trade them in the stores so you don't get so impatient with them being incredibly SLOW!! We have had that same thing happen and it is frustrating. We actually were going to drop the program when they came out with this so we decided to give it a whurl.

Another thing that bugs me...why do we rank the order that we want the DVDs if they are just going to chose and send you what THEY want. I don't know how many times I have had 20-30 movies on my list and a bunch of the tops ones are available but yet they send me #28.

I have asked the blockbuster manager why they are so slow to ship the next movie and he said "we take the movies and drop them in regular mail so it takes just as long as if you mailed it". I return our movies to the store and then I come home go on my queue and "report the movie returned but not cleared my queue". This seems to have sped up the process a bit.

I have never had the issue of them not send the next movie but one way down on the list. That is weird!

it is always a few days for us before the next ones are mailed out leading us to believe that they aren't 'checked in' when you return them to the blockbuster store but rather blockbuster gives you a new one to watch while you wait for the one you are returning to get mailed back...they then mail yours and when it gets wherever it is going they then 'check it in' and mail out a new one.

This happens to us frequently even when we had a set of disks (tv series) and the next one was available some random movie was sent.

We have even had more than one occasion where we have no idea how the movie that came even got on our list because neither one of us put it on there.

We have not had any of these problems. We take the movie in, get new ones, and our others are mailed out and come within a couple days. :confused3 Sometimes I wonder if it has to do with how far you live for a distribution center. My only problem is having enough time to watch all those movies.

We didn't have this problem at first. We'd return a movie, they would mail another one the next day and then the 3rd day I'd get an email that said "Blockbuster has received XX" which led me to believe that they were checked in at the store. However, lately it seems to be running a day or so behind, which puts it about the same time frame it was when I mailed them myself, b ut I get a movie from the store in between. Still well worth it!

I always returned the mailed ones to the store on Tuesday so I can get the new releases at the store. I always get the next shipment in the mail on thursday or fridays depending on what time I get to blockbuster on tuesday. Usually it is Fridays cause I go to blockbuster like at 6pm on tuesday.

The only trouble I had that it took longer with a new mailing was around christmas and new years but I think that is cause of the holiday and the mail schedule.

I got an email from Blockbuster last Thursday saying my "Little Miss Sunshine" DVD (that was next on my que list) was being shipped to me.

Tuesday I got an email from Blockbuster saying that they had just received the "Little Miss Sunshine" back! They wanted me to give a review of the movie that I haven't seen yet!!!

I send them an email because I don't want this movie to be counted as one of my choices since it never made it to my home. I haven't heard back from them yet.

ANY ONE EXPERIENCE ANYTHING LIKE THIS BEFORE??? :confused3

If you returned them Tuesday, two movies should have been mailed out Wednesday. The two returned movies won't clear your queue until the DVDs are received by the online entity. Movies ship the next day that there is postal service when returned to the store, NOT the day they are returned to the store. I love having this option.

Blockbuster opened a new mail center closer to me. Movies I mail are there by the next day and I have a movie usually the day following that. I am very happy with the service. It took slightly longer when the center was over in Tampa, but nothing horrible.

I have never had an issue with Blockbuster sending out of order (of course when something isn't available it moves to the next available title).

Of course now I said we have never had a problem and look and I have e-mail confirmation that they have received all 3 of my movies back, but nothing has shipped from my queue:confused3

Also Hi Heather, we are in the same thread:banana:

Ok I just checked again and now they have shipped.

I have Blockbuster Online, and have never had a problem with it. They are very fast at shipping out our movies, although they do seem to send them randomly. I love being able to exchange them at the store.

That's strange. I think it must be your particular Blockbuster store. I returned 3 movies yesterday to our local store and got 3 new ones. This afternoon I got an email saying they've shipped out 3 more. So I should have new ones tomorrow. That's been the way it's almost always been for us.:confused3

Yes, it just means the envelope got ripped open in the mail, they are designed so that the return address is left over when the flap accidently gets ripped off, and it goes back to them. I have had it happen a few times.

My new movies get shipped out the day I return the old ones at the store.

I have resorted to limiting my queue to a few movies at a time so I am sure to get the ones I want next.

In my case they have definitely slowed their pace. At first, everything was fine. Then, the movies came staggered and now they haven't shipped anything. My husband called complaining yesterday and they sent us coupons via e-mail the woman said she didn't know why they haven't shipped any more movies. :confused3 Despite having received all movies. He's going to call again tomorrow. I guess it's time to give it a rest and cancel.

they told me that I should have 30-40 movies listed in my Que at all times; instead of the 10-15 I have in there now. My first choice is available, choices 2 & 3 have waits - so why can't the computer ship my first choice?

I don't know. Now I have to go add about 25 movies to my Que - that's going to be hard!

I had this same problem. I had 20 some movies in my Que, and they still wouldnt' send me anything until I added 10 more. They wouldn't send me any of the things listed as available. I was very annoyed.

I haven't read any replies, but we've been doing this for awhile now. We used to get a movie with a day, occasionally two, but these last two weeks, it is taking 3-4 days before they release the next movie into our que.

We've also noticed over the last couple of months, they are not following our que in the slightest. We've cut our que down to only 15 movies because of it. I mean, they were skipping over our first 25 choices to send out the next movie when it said every other movie was readily available. We have even gotten one that was deleted from our que in December because it was a Christmas movie!!

We've began to rethink Blockbuster because of it; it's starting to not be cost effective. We could rent from the vending machines for $1 at the grocery store & McDonalds and as long as it is returned in 24 hours (which we do quite well) we'd be coming out ahead. A little more effort, but with all the problems were having....
