I only heard part of this report on the radio news this morning, but was hoping someone here would know the whole story. The deejay said something about "legislation was passed to enforce a total no-smoking policy in restaurants, bars and outdoor eateries as of March 1, 2003" -- but I didn't hear WHERE this was! Is this the NJ legislation? Boy, I hope so! :) :) :)

I heard from local news last nite that it was somewhere upstate NY. It's just one county. Everyone is talking about it. It's not just restaurants, but everywhere indoors.

Wonder if this applies to one's home.

but they also mentioned that NJ may follow. I'll tell you that if anyone was to tell me I couldn't smoke in MY own home - there would be he** to pay. Not with the kinds of taxes I pay.

Thanks, guys! BTW, I would imagine the only places that would be declared non-smoking would be public places.

The City Council here in Ocean City was considering a ban on smoking on the boardwalk but decided against it. It just wasn't good for the businesses on the boards. This was not just a ban on smoking inside but on the entire boardwalk.
