I read on these boards a couple of years ago that Flint Bishop does not have equipment to move snow in the winter. If I remember correctly NWA quickly bussed the passengers to Metro to catch their flight as it stopped there. Does anyone know if this is still true? I would much rather fly out of Bishop than Metro, but don't want to get stranded if it snows!

That is not true at all. We live in Grand Blanc and have a home in Tucson Az. We regularly fly out of Bishop in the winter. Snow removal is just as efficient here as DTW. Should not even be a factor in making your decision.

Thanks, dozeman, that's been our only hesitation to fly out of Bishop during the winter!

Yes, Flint has snow removal (if they didn't they would be loosing flights 6mths out of the year :guilty: ). Personally, I think FNT's removal team is better then DTW's because the airport is much smaller and usually only uses 1 runway for active departures and arrivals...

I'll chime in too. I've flown in and out of Flint a number of times during the winter, including during a pretty hefty snowstorm this Feb. They do a great job of snow removal, IMHO. :)
