question for MI drivers

To those that have driven from MI- where is a good place to stop for the night? We are planning on driving about 2/3 of the way down on the first day, then finishing the trip the next day. We are coming from the Detroit area. Any good suggestions that are past the half-way point? Thanks!

It depends on when you start your drive. The last time we drove we started in the afternoon around 3 p.m. and stopped about 9 hours later around the Chatanoogha(sp?) area. If you leave first thing in the morning I would expect that you could get as far as the northern Atlanta area. That would take around 12 hours. Hope that answers your question.

We are planning on leaving VERY early in the am. Hopefully we can be on our way by 4:00 am.
