First let me say, we are not thinking of suing anyone.

If a hospital patient's (on dialysis and many heart issues) body temp is 93 F and they are cold and clammy, what would the protocol be?

Also, would giving normal saline be helpful in any way?

Thank you.

Also, if someone has left ventricular hypertrophy with repolorization abnormality, is there a standard timeframe for how long that person can live?

Thank you.

Well, found out that, as I thought, the saline is used to raise BP.

Hi,

It sounds like you are dealing with a really complex medical situation. The problem is that the questions you are asking don't really have good answers. It sounds like you are not getting the information you need from professionals involved with the situation. I'm sorry this isn't very helpful, but I didn't want you to think people were ignoring you.

I'm no doctor....but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Select last night.

Left ventricular hypertrophy with repolorization abnormality is commonly seen on an ECG with people who have high blood pressure. The left ventricle of the heart enlarges (hypertrophies) in response to chronically elevated blood pressure and the ECG changes accordingly to reflect the enlarged heart muscle. As long as the hypertension can be kept in check, there is no reason that person cannot live to a ripe old age. If they are giving the patient saline then this might be a catch 22 situation where the increased BP is more benificial than controlling the hypertrophy at this certain point.

The 93 body temperature is quite low (enough to be considered moderate hypothermia). Not sure if there is a reason for keeping the patient at this temperature. If the patient is getting dialysis, they could manage the hypothermia with warm peritoneal dialysis.

PS (Just another reminder that I am NOT a doctor)
