Question for late April early May Alamo renters...

I know that Alamo had been honoring the $50 coupon if you see a manager or call customer service but I am just not sure I want to deal with that. Has anyone used the $25 ad3868jst coupon recently? I just want to make sure that it is a valid code.

Has anyone had the $50 coupon work without having to see a manager or call customer service? I am traveling on the 19th and trying to figure out what reservation to use.

We don't go til the 18th but read the April and May rental threads. There have been some positive rentals recently too using the $50 code. Like you, I have 2 reservations, I think I'm rolling the dice on the 50 unless there is some issue with the online check in.

Had a little odd one in April where we were picking up at the Dolphin. I saw I could do online check-in and had, where it worked fine. But they don't have that at that location and when the agent processed our rental the price was different. I don't think there were any reports at that time of the coupon not working. Now I don't know if the agent was a manager or not but they adjusted the rental when I showed them the confirmation from the online check in.

Looks like this is a Latin America code.. I just noticed the Alamo page that I found it on was not a USA Alamo!

Does the kiosk have any trouble with the fact that there are two reservations under your name - since you check in with your drivers license rather than your Alamo confirmation number? Does it just show you both reservations and you choose the one you want to actually use? I hate getting booted off the kiosk and forced to go to the counter.

I wish it was easy to have two reservation with the same rental company - for a back up in case a code doesn't work (if you're asked for proof of eligibility at the counter, etc.). I guess if you're worried about having a back up reservation, you should make it with a different company. But the whole thing is complicated enough as it is!

I used the $25 code on a May 7 rental with no issues. Skipped the counter. Sailed right through.

I do the same as Stacey and I cancel one the day before I arrive, and then do online check in for the one I'm keeping. I will keep another reservation at a different company in case something goes south though.

The $50 code didn't work for me at SFB last week. And what bothered me almost as much was the fact that the code error caused the kiosk to reject my efforts to check in - despite the fact that I had my online check in page with me, etc. So I had to go to the dreaded counter. Fortunately, I wasn't using VROOM VROOM or another code that you might possibly have to show eligibility for at the counter. Just the AP code - though they didn't ask to see my AP anyway.

I have been keeping the $50 coupon reservation to see what is being reported but will likely cancel since there have been issues. Then I will just decide if I would rather spend a little more for the SUV or stick with Alamo full size which is $30 less. Before I go will have one reservation left so I can check in online and be ready to go.
