So we are doing a trip to Disney over New Years though the first weekend of January and my son and I are going to split off from the wife and daughter to do a day trip to universal. Obviously with only 1 day we want to get the most out of it. I have 2 questions.

1) what's the best way to get the cheapest ticket for a 2 park 1 day park to park pass? Not sure if it's better to get tickets there or in Orlando somewhere. Most sites don't discount much for 1 day

2) we are going January 2nd. Any one have any idea of what the crowds will be like? Wondering if I should save for some express passes.

Thanks!

1. You just aren't going to find a deal on a 1 day ticket. Buy ahead because gate prices are even more.
2. It'll be super busy. Price out staying overnight the night before at a Universal hotel for the Express Passes vs buying a la carte. The EPs (unlimited ones) will likely be $120-150/ each that day. Only offered at Royal Pacific, Hard Rock or Portofino. You'd get early entry too, which is nice. Basically if you can find a room for $300 or less, you'd be well served to make a mini trip out of it amidst your Disney time.
