Does anyone know when/if it will be announced that seasonal passholders can use their tickets during the August blackout dates? I remember someone saying that last year, the August blackout dates were waived. I guess w/the free dining, that may not happen this year. Just wondering, as we'll be passing through the Orlando area in early August (8/1-8/2) and would of course LOVE to stop by and visit Mickey!! :thumbsup2 Thanks in advance!

Keep watching your mailbox and the DIS. The last 2 summers they lifted the blackout in mid-late July. No guarantees, of course, but if I remember correctly, by the time I received my postcard, the blackout had been lifted already for a few days.
Maybe if we all wish really hard......... pixiedust:

You can also call the AP phone line although they are not the always the first ones to know things. I think they best way to find out would be to watch here on the DIS.. we have a way of finding things out!

A couple of days ago somebody posted that it was lifted and we should be getting the mailing soon - if you have your pass at home you can use it to log in to the passholder page at disneyworld.com and it should tell you. : )

I believe that someone posted that the thread was actually from last year or before. I don't believe black-out periods have been lifted yet.

No, not yet, hope they do though, but I doubt it for this year. :confused3

Yep the other post I've seen about Seasonal passes being lifted early was actually a year old post. If I'm correct last 2 years it was lifted right at the end of July, let's keep our fingers crossed!!!

Yes, the last two years it has been the last week in July, about one month ahead of schedule. Park attendance was up last year, and I figured that it wouldn't be lifted...but it was. Park attendance is supposedly down slightly this year, and so I see no reason why they wouldn't lift it again this year. And when I see them offering free dining and lots of package deals that tells me that things are slow, not busy.

I called the passholder hotline last week and asked about this. They said they have not been told about anything like this for '06. It seems like it is getting late now to expect anything. We'll have to keep checking! :surfweb:

well, then maybe I'll have to hope for a postcard for a free waterpark admission like we got last year!!! One way or the other, I've GOT to get to Disney next month.... :goodvibes
