Question for DFW Folks

Hey Guys,

I haven't flown since 9/11, and last time I went to MCO, my flight on Delta Roundtrip no connections cost me $165.

Now it seems like everything is in the $250 range. I don't know if this is because it's still too early for the sales, or if flights have gone up since 9/11.

So my question is what is a good rate for a Roundtrip DFW to MCO flight, no connections for early december.

If your from the area you know that we(DFW)always pay at least a little more(thanks wright amendment)than most folk. I 'm also planing a trip for Dec. and have been watching the airfare prices from the first of the year. I want to say that 9/11 did not drive up the prices but the war did. I had a chance before it started to go on Delta for $189 non-stop but DH wanted to wait thinking prices will go down and that maybe we could get on American and use our vouchers. Big mistake so i've watch the price for the longest time stay at $269 and then it dropped to $245 last month and we jumped so that we could use the vouchers and if the price goes down they'll give us vouchers for the difference. I have found the best way to look for deals is to go on orbitz and when you find a flight price you like go to the airlines website and book direct. I almost hate to say this but last week orbitz had flights with 1 connection for $169. Best advice is to keep checking( i've had good luck doing this after midnight on tues. or weds.)and to book when there is a price you can live with and ask the airline if they give voucher if there is a price drop. Good luck

Thanks so much for the response.

At this point, my goal is just to hold off until I get anything under $200. Delta is at $218 right now, but I have a feeling this sale won't last any longer.

Last time we had booked for $225 and then got refund vouchers that went un-used. I don't mind the vouchers this time around because I have a trip planned to Vegas next summer anyways.

Thanks Again!

Tina
