Question for Dell fans... Dan are you out there?

Ok... I called in and have a pretty good idea of what we want in our new Dell. Now is it to my advantage to order online? There are all kinds of offers that say "for online orders only".

Any tips, hints or suggestions are welcome as we are about to take the plunge and order a new 8300!!

YES, it is to your advantage to order online! As you noticed, there are ALL sorts of offers if you order online, ranging from upgrades to free shipping to rebates. Dell is CONSTANTLY changing the offers but ANY of them are quite good. You DEFINITELY want to order online to take advantage of these!

I just got a new laptop and it included a $100 rebate, upgraded memory and DVD upgrade.

Definately order online...not only for all the rebate advantages but because you get to actually see what you're getting. They will have 360 views of the laptops...not sure about the desktops. Plus you can do more research on what you actually want on it rather than having to stay on the phone having someone explain to you what the difference is between the 20gig hard drive and the 40 gig hard drive, etc. Plus you tend to lose interest (whether intentionaly or not) in what a person on the phone is saying. When you look online you have all the info you need right there in front of you. I think it's a whole lot easier

we ordered a laptop in April and had built it on line, and I called the customer line to ask a question. We got all the online rebates and specials, and then the customer service rep upgraded the monitor and took another $50 off. I would definitely order by phone!
