I have a question to all December/Christmas-time brides who did the MK photo shoot. Were the icicle dream lights on during your shoot? I know the shoot is in the morning, not at night, but it's still pretty dark out for that 5am shoot!

DF and I absolutely love the way the castle is lit for Christmas and would love to have it lit for our MK photo shoot. Anyone know if this is even an option?

I believe the "official" answer is that the lights aren't on for the MK shoot, though some couples have been lucky enough that they were "testing" or replacing lights and had them on. I have seen some bridal shoots with them on and they were breathtaking, but I don't believe there is any guarantee.

I was wondering the same thing as our wedding is in December 2010. We're still debating on having a MK shoot. :confused3

The icicle lights are not on for the MK shoots. You can't ask for them to be on or pay for it. It's just one of those things because they turn them off in the wee hours of the morning. The only possible way for them to be on was already mentioned and it would completely be mere happenstance. (What Disney calls a "Magical Moment")

I was married 12/08 and had a 5AM shoot. We happened to be one of the few to have 1/2 our photos w/ the lights on simply b/c there was a VIP shoot (I think it had to do w/ the MK X-mas Parade) that morning and they needed the lights on for it. Our photographer didn't even know they'd be on b/c she'd already told us in the van a definitive "No" when I asked about them. I have only heard of one other couple, but their shoot was back the first year the lights were on and Disney was doing a testing.

Basically, you shouldn't do the shoot if you're only doing it for the lights. Plus, the shoot is awesome in and of itself so it'll be magical regardless! :goodvibes

Thanks for the info! DF and I already decided that we wouldn't be doing the shoot unless the lights were on. I just can't justify spending that much money on the shoot plus hair and makeup without lights. :sad2:
