Question for Cruisers

I booked air with the cruise. I looked around for a good rate for air and could not, at that time, find anything cheaper than I could get with the cruise. I also felt a little better knowing that since they were responsible for my air, they might hold the boat a bit for me if there was a delay. If I could have found a good rate for air I would have booked it seperately and gone down the night before.

I did not know any better at the time!LOL

Second, which was the 7 day. I booked myself and arrived the day before to make sure that there were no delays or problems and if there were, I had the day to rectify!

Third, don't know yet?

heading for our 6th cruise, a few we drove down for but the ones we flew we arranged our own air and transportation in Florida.

I would book air myself and fly the day before and home the day after if you have the time. When we went on our cruise they arranged the flights. Our one down got us to the boat a whole hour and half before leaving., but the one coming home was not so well thought out. Our ship landed at 9:30 in Miami and our flight was at 11:20 out of Fort Lauderdale. To say I was freaking out is an understatment. They let us off the boat first because our flight was one of the earliest. We picked up our luggage and went to head out the gate when the attendant told us (she pointed) to go to the guy down there. She was talking about the guy at the inspection table but I decided that she was talking to the guy at the other gate by the inspection table. I thought that because we were Canadian we had to go out a different gate. He let us through no problem and we made it to the airport 45 minutes before it was to leave. If we had stopped to have our luggage searched we would have been late.

Next time I would arrange my own transportation; and since I can't fly without a lot of ear pain after I land, I'll be driving.

Enjoy yourself.

Have fun.

We drive so no air and no transfers. We do plan to arrive at Port Canaveral a day before the cruise just in case we run into any problems. This also allows us to arrive at the port terminal when we want to rather than when the bus arrives.

We always book our own air but I think that's just out of habit and not because there are any advantages. We usually arrive at least the day before and fly Air Canada.

We usually book the transfers as well because it's so convenient. It's nice for someone else to handle all the luggage once we arrive in Orlando. Plus you also get into the Disney mood as soon as you board that DCL bus! I think that if you have 5 or 6 people, the town cars are less costly than the transfers but I'm not exactly sure about that.
