I understand Crocs are the preferred shoe for WDW. Does it matter which style? Are the flip-flops okay or do we need the enclosed ones? I am about to buy all four of us a pair, so please let me know which kind are best. TIA.

Its great that you are soliciting opinions here. But the only one that counts, especially when it comes to all the walking you'll do at WDW, is that of your feet. Buy a pair now and wear them for a full day, then decide if that's right for you.

I think that most people here wear the Beach style to the parks. I know that they are the only shoes that I can wear all day in the parks and still have feet that aren't killing me. Make sure that you check out the Disney style that just came out.. they are so cute!

I couldn't agree more. You really need to try them out before your trip. Some people love them, some people hate them.

I have several pairs of the Beach Croc. They are a bit wide with lots of room. They also don't have much by way of support for your arches. If that's a concern, you might want to rethink wearing them ALL day long at WDW.

They are comfy though!

Dh and i wore our Crocs Athens (flip flops) our entire trip in August. I never had any probems, and my feet didn't hurt the whole trip...

I have worn both but my beach (enclosed) ones more. I found my toes kept getting stepped on in the flip flops (my children were doing great staying close :thumbsup2 ) so I tended towards the beach ones since I didn't feel the toe stepping as much.

I agree though, only your feet can say for sure!

I was a Croc's advocate for my last 4 trips to WDW. Then, after suffering the dreaded WDW rash, I concluded my Crocs were contributing to my affliction. My feet swelled and the red blotches came out on my lower legs after 2-3 days in the parks. I found that this didn't happen if I wore my Mephisto's. I have very high arches so I can only conclude that the lack of support gave way to the intense foot swelling, which in turn caused the 'under the skin' bruising from fluid backup....something called 'stasis dermatitis'...pretty close to my symtoms. I had thought it was a heat/humidity issue but that has turned out to be not the case. Looks like I'm back to more supportive foot gear next month...we'll see what happens then. My dd, 13, wears her Crocs all day in WDW and has no issue at all. Other have had her same experiences and love their Crocs for all day wear.

Crocs are the preferred shoe for WDW? Not for us. We'll stick with good, sturdy, well-worn tennies, thanks! :thumbsup2

Hi -

They are all right - you have to wear what is comfie for you,, here are my thoughts....

okay - the crocs caymans are the most comfie for me compared to the beach ones, they seem a bit more supportive and more comfie for my foot. Now, i recently got a pair of the croc scutes, and oh my goodnes,,,they have like a double cushion in the heel that made them actually more comfie than my bare feet!!! when we were at disney, i alternated between the caymans and the scutes and was very happy - best trip for my feet in a few years! last year i wore a combo of what i thought were well broken in sneakers, flip flops and teva sandals - my poor feet were covered in blisters,,,,ugh,,,,not this year!!! i did also use some body glide on my feet to help prevent - i was prepared!!!

In past vacations, my feet suffered terribly from the more than 12 hour trek through the parks and long hike back to the room kind of days. I even switched sneaker brands - spent lots of money thinking more money meant better support. When our family did Disney earlier this year over July 4th, I used Crocs cold turkey and never regretted it. Yes, you got to do what's comfortable for you. But if it's like me and the shoe feels good when you try it on, then you won't have problems on your trip.

Hope your trip is magical.

I must say that I'm clueless - never heard of Crocs. I prefer tennis shoes or bouncy running shoes - with nice performance socks.

I have heel spurs and I was so sure that I would need my good sneakers and orthotic inserts to get me through the days in the parks. I was wrong. Even they hurt my feet. Once I tried on my Croc Athens it was like my heels were walking on a cloud. The soles are made of a different material than regular crocs. I wore them the entire week , from sun up to close to midnight every day of our 8 day trip with not one blister or sore ,achy foot.

I too have heel spurs, I must admit that my Mary Janes are not as good for walking the world as the athens or "regular" are PERFECT!! NO problems at all! :thumbsup2

I am bringing 2 pairs of shoes to switch off with hope that helps this trip.I have apair of crocs and a pair of reboks hope that helps the sore dogs at the end of the day. the crocs do feel like slippers.I bought them about 6 wks ago and wear them aout 80% of the time :cool1: :thumbsup2 they give me happy feet so far.

I too have bone spurs in my heals and I bought 3 pairs of the Disney Crocs and I have been wearing them for 4 days and I have to tell you my heals are starting to hurt a little so I put my orthodics right inside and put the strap around my foot and now they are perfect. I have to find a way to make them work because I love the Disney ones I bought!! :cheer2:

I've worn the Croc Beach, Athens flip flops, Niles, and Aspens. In order of comfort I rank them as #1 Aspens, #2 Beach, #3 Athens, and #4 Niles. The Niles are the only ones to give me a blister (twice).

Personally I prefer my Teva Mush flip flops of all the shoes I've carried down there. I can wear them all day and never know they're on my feet.

i personally think crocs are uncomfortable and dont fit right on your foot or on mine anyway since theyre not really foot shaped but a lot of people love them so idk

Ive been reading all the hype on crocs and I am considering buying them even though I vowed I would NEVER buy them because I think they are kind of ugly :sorry guys:!! But Im considering buying them because I get really bad blisters when walking and I am not sure how my feet will hold up in the park. .. i guess we will just have to wait and see!

I like my croc more then my Brinkstock. I wear them no matter what the weather is. I also love the face that you can wash them in the sink. So if your on wet rides you will not have to walk in wet tennis shoes all day.
