Question for Canadian DVCers NOT in Ontario

... hehehe not to let you folks in Ontario out but I am more curious to see if my theory is correct:

Do those of you NOT in Ontario get incentive emails etc from your guide? I've never gotten a single thing from my guide and I am wondering if that is because I am in BC? The only time I find out anything is when I read the boards here. LOL

Also have any of you NOT in Ontario gotten a 2009 planner? I maybe haven't gotten one because i signed up in 2009 so I do have a planner though it doesn't include the 2 new resorts (Kidani/BLT... can't remember off hand if it has THV?)

I bought through re-sale so obviously don't receive any incentives but with the e-mails I get from DVC.com, I am aware of what they are.

I just received my 2009 planner last Friday so don't give up, could show up soon!

Since DVC is not licensed to sell in Alberta, I have never received anything except my planner and Disney files and my DVC Christmas card. If I want to know something I can call my guide directly in California and ask questions.

On that note I still have not received my planner......sigh

We are in Alberta, and havent recieved our planner for 2009 yet. We have 2 contracts through resale, and one contract direct from Disney. Never recieved anything at all other than our confirmation letters, and our DisneyFiles magazines.

When we first purchased our DVC membership through Disney, we were living in Ontario. We received incentives in the mail as well as planners, DVC get-togethers, promotions etc. After we moved out of Ontario, we only receive the planners and any other mail that doesn't pertain to selling timeshare info.

As far as I know, and what my guide had told me, Ontario is the only province that will allow DVC to sell. That is why those of us outside of Ontario can only purchase through Disney by being physically in the US or of course, through resale. I was a little upset about this issue because the year we moved, they were offering the tapestry for the AKV. I wanted to purchase an add on within that timeframe, but they wouldn't let me. I was so disappointed. I did email a concerning letter letting them know that I was definitely going to purchase, but I wouldn't be down for a few months after the end of the offer. Needless to say, I didn't get into the tapestry but I did purchase some points, just not as much as I would have if I was able to get into the tapestry.

A few years back, my guide told me that the only way he can speak to me about add ons or incentives is for me to be in Florida. But I think there are other states now that have DVC sale centre (I believe I read it somewhere, I wasn't too interested in the details since the only way I would add on is at Disney anyways).

By the way, I did get the planner a week ago. They do tend to have different mailings. Sometimes there are those in the US who don't receive the planner before I do. I thought that was strange, but I suppose planners and other mailings are done by different depots. Well that's what I think anyways.
