We are hoping to got to Disneyland in November for the Xmas decorations and we like to fly out of Seattle. The prices through Alasaka Airlines is $99 each way. Should we book this flight? Do you think this is the best we'll see or should we wait? All this talk about gas prices has me worried.

Thanks!

I just bought tickets on Alaska for Oct and it was more than 99$. I say go for it.

These days, Youre probably wont find any cheaper flights with the gas prices and all that, So I would say go for it at that price before they decide to raise their prices which can happen at any time.

$99 each way is a pretty good rate. I'd say book! Although I was a little upset because we booked this rate from SEATAC to LGB and then we get on a little after and its $79 each way now (we're going in Sept), but oh well, we used discount codes earned anyway and got two round trips for about $60 total. :lmao:

Especially considering the time of year (Nov), I'd say this was a good deal.

That is a pretty good rate. Be sure you check various airports. We like to use LGB/ long beach as we can usually get direct flights from Seattle. We also use SNA / orange county but seems like we always end up with a lay over in San Fran when we use that airport. Also, check JetBlue from Sea to LGB. I've seen some $89 each way fares for Oct, but you can't fly on a weekend for that rate. And, I havent seen that rate in Dec.

$99 is definitely a decent fare. Of course there's a chance it'll go down by $10-20 each way, but I'm guessing a bigger chance it'll go up, just given where things are going with the airlines these days. Snag it. ::yes::

I agree, go for it. We paid $125 each way from PDX to LAX for our Dec. and Jan. trips.

Thats a good rate I would book it, for our trip in August to lax it was $367.00 RT or to Orange County $376.00. I went ahead with booking Orange county we like flying into that airport

Dangggg folks, I'm love to find a rate for $99 both ways from PDX to LAX or SNA. The cheapest I've found is $300! and Portland is closer than Seattle! What the heck!

Maybe the travel sites I'm looking on are layered in gold.

As per someone's suggested, I downloaded DING! From southwest air so I'm keeping my eyes peeled for cheap fair, but seriously. I'm wondering if it would be cheaper for us to drive, even with gas at $5-$6 a gallon by October.

Totally do it.

We are using our Alaska Airmiles for 4 of us and then purchasing a ticket for the 5th person. Ive been watching Alaska Airlines prices and about a month ago it was about $275 round trip from Seattle to John Wayne...then shortly after it shot up to $300.

I may have to check it out now myself. :)

If you fly Alaska Airlines quite a bit, it might be beneficial to sign up for their milage plan.

Bank of America offers an Alaska Airlines Visa card, which upon approval will give you 20k miles (enough for one roundtrip ticket). Not to mention you also get a $50 companion certificate every year so someone can fly for $50!

In addition, if you also have a BOA checking account, you can get the Alaska Airlines Visa DEBIT card...which if your like me, you use your debit card for everything and your able to rack up miles like crazy without even thinking about it.

We used miles to pay for our flights back in 2006 and now we have accumulated enough to pay for our trip again! (sans the little guy)

Just something to consider. If you interested, let me know so I can send you an invite. Since I am a cardholder I get bonus miles for referring people. ;)

I think BOA also offers other milage plan debit cards as well too. We just use Alaska because they are mostly West Coast.

Holy smokes!!

From Seattle to John Wayne its $188 roundtrip!!

Im sooooooooooooo booking flights tomorrow!!!

Thanks for the heads up on the great deal. :)

That's how I feel too! WAAAHHHH!! I wonder what the travel dates are for the original poster? Is it close to travel time? I don't know if I want to wait and chance the prices going up to MAYBE get a cheap deal.

ugh...this part of traveling drives me nuts!!:headache:

I think a lot of my problem is the day we're flying back is a Friday. Rates seem to be going up for some reason because of this. Maybe I can convince the boys to stay another night

So this may seem a bit odd... but i've NEVER flown on a commercial airplane. Ever. Just tiny little Cessna 4-seat airplanes for maybe 1hour trips here and there. So this is a first for me. On websites like expedia, travelocity, etc, in addition to the plane tickets, which are ranging from $270 to $300, the terms of use mention a $50 booking fee per person or something like that, so really, the plane ticket will be like $350... is this NORMAL?

I just punched in our dates of Oct 7-11 and sorted them by price rather than schedule. :cutie:

Wow, that's a great price. I wish we going then, but we aren't going until the first week of December. I haven't seen any low rates for that month yet. I've been checking daily and sort them by price also. I hope you can take advantage of those great rates. :)

Check the airline websites themselves; unless you're booking a package, the fares will very likely be the same, but the booking fee will make the travel website's total price higher.

OP, I had a $99 fare from SNA to SEA last January, and I considered it a gift. If I saw nothing better on Southwest, I'd book that!

For anyone, the other cost you need to factor in when choosing a destination airport is how much it will cost to get to the hotel. When I chose Ontario to fly into last December, I checked the price to various airports, and then checked the super shuttle price from ONT to Harbor Blvd. I thought the ss price would be about the same from wherever.

But when I booked the flight from SEA to SNA in January, I quickly realized how wrong I had been, b/c the ss price was about a fifth or a quarter of the ONT price. D'oh! Ultimately the ONT price plus ss was still better than SNA and their ss price, but it might not have been, and I should have checked.

As another Canadian flying out of the US, I wanted to mention that parking at SeaTac is outrageous!! Much more expensive than YVR!
If you are going for more than a couple of days, it's worth getting a hotel the night before your trip that will allow you to leave your car in their secure lot for the duration of your trip. We didn't know this last Dec when we spent 10 days in WDW and the parking was about $240!!!!
We are planning a DL trip in early December and I am currently waiting for allegiant air to open up their December dates. We are planning for 2 days in San Diego that trip and they offer flights out of Bellingham direct to San Diego for $68 each way!
As for the $99 SEA to LAX, I doubt you'll do better than that. I'd take it.
Sure beats the fares out of YVR!!!

heck for $99 each way i'd drive 5 hours and past 2 airports. i looked at flying at it was alot more than that.

another thing we have done to cut down/elimanate parking fees is we rent a car and drop at the airport and on the flight home do the reverse.
