Question for annual passholders

Can you get an annual pass with a package......for example I have already booked through AAA for a package for nine nights, with a ten day hopper and a meal plan. Can I just change the ticket to an annual pass and keep everything else.

Unfortunately, no. You would need to cancel that package and make a new room only reservation, buying the annual passes separately and purchasing food separately. That being said, as long as there is not some major penalty for canceling the package, I'd say go for it and get the AP's!

A CM told us we could book a package and upgrade our tickets to annual passes when we got there. Has anyone had any experience with this or heard of anyone actually doing it?

Actually, yes! My brother went down not long ago and had a MYW Premium ticket for 7 days, a room at All Star Movies, and the Dining your way package. He went to the Guest Services at MGM and upgraded to a Premium Annual Pass before he used any part of his tickets or his dining and all was well.

Well that's true too. If you take your tickets from the package and go to a guest relations booth at one of the theme parks or Downtown Disney (resorts cannot make annual passes), then they should be able to convert those to annual passes.

If you do upgrade, you get credit for a discounted ticket. So don't assume that if the MYW pass cost $240 for example, that you are getting that credit, you are getting what AAA pays Disney!

Call and see if there are any rooms with the AP rate where you are staying. You can save a lot of money that way!! We get the value resorts for 49/ night in January with our AP. PLUS.. they changed the Dinsey Dining Experience that used to be for FLA residents only. IF you have an AP, for 50 bucks you get a disney dining ( and you only need one) to get I think its 20% off of your meals at certain places. This will really benefit me as we stay at the value resorts mostly, and that card is good at all value resort food courts!!! When are you going and where are you staying??

Yes you do. I believe it is 40.00 cheaper.

Your check in date is the last day of Regular season. Make sure on your reservation that you arent being charged the regular rate the ENTIRE trip. From the 2nd day on, it VALUE season. Sometimes they go by the FIRST day of you trip and thats the rate they give your for the whole stay. If they did to you, you are going to have to make this 2 seperate ressies. One for the 27th and one for the rest to get the cheaper rate. The value rate with an AP is 49/night in January. Im betting its the same for you. SInce you are staying at pop, that new Dinsey Dining Experience thing would be good for you. Pop's food court is included. All you need is one card for the family and everyone gets the food discount!! You need to figure out these differnt options and see which one is chepest. If you are looking at the AP for the cheap room rate, remember only ONE person needs the AP. SOoo... if you arent planning on coming back within one year, just one of you needs the AP for the room rate. They rest can get the MYW tickets. The dining card will still be good too.
