What kinds of gas discounts do you have/use? How we I save money on gas driving to Disney? :wave2:

Good Luck w/ that one. It's terrible when $2.00 is cheap now.

A family friend who recently moved to Bradenton, FL from suburban Chicago just a few months ago (and susequently has been making the road trip more often than anyone I know) suggested the "Flying J" travel stops as being 10 - 15 cents per gallon cheaper than everyone else. I found this to be, for the most part, accurate for the trip there and back....

I will second that!! Flying J stations are considerably cheaper than others. When you see one...fill-up.
We just got back from our trip (WI - FL 1200 miles one way) and found that we filled up our tank about 3 times each way. At around $40 to fill up the van and transport 4 people, we spent about $240 round trip on transportation. Not as good as past years at .98/gal but still cheaper than flying.
My best advise is to try to time it so that you fill up in TN and then 1 more big fill-up in GA. You will find as you cross the border into FL the stations go up in price about .40 -.50 cents regardless of the station. We made the mistake of not filling up before we left GA thinking prices would remain about the same. We were wrong. :sad2: Gas was the cheapest in TN and GA.

My family and I are driving to wdw from Buffalo, NY in October. I started buying visa gift cards for various amounts for gas/food for our trip down. They're good everywhere. That way we won't have to shell out $500 or so for gas, it won't be so bad with what we purchased over these next few months. We did the same for McDonalds and other fast food places that we may stop at

Thanks for the tip! Although we won't be going through TN, I will definitely make sure to fill up before we get to Fla! We leave on Wednesday to visit friends in Charlotte and then head to Florida from there. We are getting really excited!
