Question: DDP when staying over New Year's Eve

Hi everyone,

We'll be on the standard DDP on our upcoming trip.

We'll be staying 12/31/11 - 1/5/12.

My question is:

The 2011 DDP does not include a refillable mug, but the 2012 plan does.

Will the new plan "kick in" on 1/1? Or will we be subjected to the rules/allowances of the 2012 plan?

If your plan starts in 2011 you will be subject to the prices and inclusions under that one, not 2012. Good for the price bad for the mug.

Compare the price of the 2011 plan with the extra inclusions under the 2012. If its worth it to you you could go OOP on 12/31 (one night stay) and kick in your package on 1/1...but you would have to look at what that would do to your room rate, etc. Otherwise it might be worth it to just buy the mug.
