Question concerning DVC Points Insurance

I usually go for the insurance on my points, and IIRC it's based on Use Year.
My question is : Since I just purchased addonitis points via resale, and they just hit my account, will the 2020 points be insured, based on my existing insurance policy for that use year? Do I have to insure these additional points separately ??

Sorry I can't answer your question, but this really interests me. Is this a type of travel insurance? Or similar to a LOC insurance or something?

ETA: I tried googling to see what it was all about but couldn't find anything.

Just so I understand, this is "points" insurance in that you get reimbursed for MF if you have a to cancel a trip for a covered reason and it's too late to bank them, yes?

It actually covers travel expenses as well, beyond just the MFs.

I decided to call DVC today, for something else, and they confirmed the answer. All of my points, Direct & Resale, are covered within the same use year.
I had insured my 2020 points last year, because we borrowed for our January Grand Villa trip.
So - I've already paid - WooHoo !!
I was able to get my room preference noted for January 2021, that I just booked with my "newly-acquired-and-insured-resale points"
