We are taking an unexpected trip in september and doing MNSSHP on Sept. 21st. My kids are 5 and 3...and both huge mickey fans! So needless to say we are very excited. But my question this...the Halloween party starts at 7:00. Do you think we will be able to make a dinner at Artist's Pointe- ADR for 5:30...and still make it to MK in time for plenty of trick or treating for the kiddos before the parade starts? Or should we do CS inside MK instead? I tried to book LTT but it booked SOLID! Also tried to get WCC they are booked to unless we want to eat at 3:30- had to pass on that one.
thanks for any and all advice/info!:flower3:

I think that would really be pushing it, if you want to be there for the beginning of the party. I've only had dinner at Artist Point once, but the pacing of the meal was quite leisurely.

I would just get to the MK early (you can usually get in as early as 4:00 with your MNSSHP tickets) and eat counter service before the party starts. Save Artist Point for some other time when you can take your time and enjoy it - it's a fine dining experience, and it would be a shame to rush through it.

I'd figure 1 1/2 to 2 hours for dinner at AP and 1/2 hour to get to MK. You can take the boat or the bus, but either way it will take some time to get over there, through security, into the park, etc. Personally if you are paying so much for the party tickets, I'd want to get as much time as possible there. Especially since you have little ones who presumably won't make it to the wee hours of the event. So I'd suggest eating CS at the park or getting earlier ressies at a faster place at a monorail resort.

We did this exact thing last year-5:30 at Artist Point and on to MNSSHP. It was just my husband and me and we were at the party by 8:00. The biggest holdup was getting the boat to the Magic Kingdom. There werelots of people going and the boats were coming full from Fort Wilderness and just a few could get on each boat. We had enough time to do what we wanted, see the parade and fireworks and did not rush through dinner.

I prefer eating a sit down meal in MK around 5:30p. We've eaten at all the restaurants in MK (except the Plaza) before the parties.

Our favorites? CP (takes ADRs till 6:30p) and Tony's (open till 9:30p).

I do NOT want to stop during the party for food, either sit down or counter service. I've also seen those CS lines.

Good luck deciding.
