question about your magical journeys

About five weeks ago I booked a room-only reservation through Your Magical Journeys for August, received a confirmation number and put down a deposit. Now, after reading all the threads about how much money people have saved through the dining package, I've been thinking that it would be better for my family to book a package through AAA. I've been feeling really really horrible about this since YMJ has booked a room for us already, but this is out last big vacation for a long time and package will allow us to enjoy our food without worrying about money. I just wanted to ask you guys: is there any etiquette for breaking up with your TA? Does YMJ charge a cancellation fee?

Get the rate that you would get at AAA. Then email your agent at Magical Journeys and see if they can match that rate with whatever AAA includes. If they can't match it, then request to cancel the reservation.

If it's a small difference, I wouldn't bother changing the TA. If it's a huge difference, I would lean towards changing it. (Have them price the same package too.)

Only AAA TA's can get the AAA package rate so most likely YMJ's will not be able to meet the same price. Not sure how big the package will be (meaning $)but sometimes if it's big enough the agency can play around with the figures to meet or beat the other price.....again this depends on the actual package that is being booked.

Good luck and do not feel bad if you choose to go with AAA. TA's know that AAA is the only agency that can discount a "package" right now so they will understand. However, TA's can get AAA discounts for room only ressies.
