I have a Tusker House ADR for a time prior to park opening. I was told by the cm at Disney Dining that I will need to go to the TTC and get a wristband prior to heading to AK.

Does anyone have experience with this? How long should I allow for this?

The last time I did this we just gave a CM at the gate our reservation number, which seems a lot less complicated than the current system.

TIA!

I was there in december and we had early adrs at MK and Epcot. Both times we went to the gate gave them our name and they let us through after checking our name off. Never heard of wristbands for early adrs.

I agree, I have never heard of wristbands for early ADR's.
We were there in October and did not need one. The CM at the gate had a list and we just gave our name and they allowed us in.
I would call back and check.

Have never heard of wristbands for early ADR's. They would have to make that announcement LOUD and CLEAR because that would be a big change. All we've had to do is to to the park and the ones that host a breakfast have a sign and a turnstile they use for those having breakfast. At AK, we were not allowed in the park until 8am and our breakfast was for 8am. But no one was allowed in ... so we were still basically first at the restaurant. :)

I never heard of this, and I work the Gates currently at the Studio.

We have one gate open early, and there is a person from Food Services there with a list of everyone who has pre-opening dining reservations.

When you call Walt Disney World, unless you really know a direct number, you will get one of two offices.

The Disney Reservations Center (DRC) includes Walt Disney Travel Company (WDTC), Central Reservations Office (CRO), Disney Dining, and some other lesser known information lines. To the best of my knowledge the DRC locations are in the International Drive area, Tampa, Kansas City and Houston and Salt Lake City. There may be more. Some of the people working at the DRC call centers may never have been to either WDW or DL (or both).

The Main Switchboard (407-824-2222) is also where all calls to Disney Resorts go if you are dialing the phone number on the back of your reservations form. Also that is where calls go if you dial the Operator from your room, and possibly even calls to the Front Desk. The Main Switchboard people will, if asked, also identify themselves as Guest Services. They can put you through to any number on WDW.

At both DRC and MS they have access to a computer which has lots of Guest Information and it is very well organized. Actually, all CMs who have access to a terminal, or who even can access the "Cast Portal" from off-site, have access to this Guest Services information. I will often open an extra window when I am responding to people and go into the Portal for the latest official information.

I'm going to call back later today and make sure they haven't changed this.

My hope is that the cm I talked to was mistaken and everyone here is right. It seems like a waste of time to go somewhere else and stand in line!!!

Thanks for the advice!

Beth

The CM must have been making it up as he/she talked.:goodvibes

It makes no sense to go to the TTC which is pretty much the opposite side of WDW from AK. In addition, there is no transportation from WDW resorts to the TTC.

I have read though that it is important to take WDW transportation to AK for early reservations in AK. Supposedly, cars aren't allowed into the lots until half hour before opening. Not sure if that has changed but I would ask around the boards about that or just take the AK bus.

We had an early ADR at Tusker House a couple of weeks ago. We drove there. They opened the parking lot just minutes before 8 o'clock. Our ADR was 8:10, so I was worried about getting there in time but it worked out fine.

Thanks for posting that. It's great to know that it has changed. :thumbsup2
