Ok, so I plan to book POR for the 5 of us, me, dh and boys ages 5, 7 and 2.5yrs. But if codes or a pin comes my way, I am thinking the WL, with bunkbeds. Now my questions are:
1. I here it is very noisy if you get a room in the middle I am guessing close to lobby or restaurant. What are these rooms called? Standard, Deluxe?
2. I would love a balcony, do all rooms have one?
3. What type of room should I request and where?
We have never been here, never seen it, other than on the web. Thanks in advance. Michele

The rooms that over look the lobby are mostly the Courtyard view, I never stayed in those rooms so I can not say if they are noisy or not.
All the rooms have balconies, some that are on the 6th and 7th floor have dormer balconies, you can not sit and see through these balconies as they have brick in the railings that obstruct your view.
The 7th floor rooms are concierge.
There are 3 views, standard, they over look the service area, woodsview, and courtyard view. The courtyard views can over look the "main" courtyard, where the main pool is or can over look the pool area between the WL and the Villas.
When we stayed there we had a courtyard view, but I think I would prefer a woodsview as they seem to be a bit more peaceful.
check this link, it should give you some more info http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=658804

standard rooms - we never had a problem with noise.

Yes.

If you can, get a woods/lodge view room in the north wing, on the 5th or 6th floor(6th is a smoking floor), you should be able to see Wishes and the Castle and the Contemporary from your balcony.

We've stayed at WL twice, both times in a standard room, both times for $109 per night before tax (once in September with an AP rate and again at Christmastime with a FL Resident rate).

On our first stay, we made no requests other than non-smoking. We got a lovely, fourth floor room overlooking the VWL pool.

On our next stay, we requested (at check-in) a room somewhat close to the lobby. We got a sixth floor room that time, great location. It wasn't so close to the lobby that we could hear the ruckus from WCC, but it also wasn't a long trek down winding hallways to get to our room...it was perfect. Our view from the balcony, looking down, was of the smokehouse. Our view, looking straight across, was of the Contemporary resort and of the castle. We were able to watch Wishes (with only a slightly obstructed view) from our balcony. My niece said she liked to leave the blinds open just a crack so that she could fall asleep watching the castle change colors. Can't beat that for $109 a night!

If you can get a good rate at WL, go! You'll be happy you did. :sunny:
