This happened two of the four days on our last trip. I know that people staying at Disney hotels can still get in even if the park is at capacity.

What about if you had your hand stamped? Will they still let you back in?

For those of you with experience with this: is there a time by which they normally allow people back in? Will CMs tell you whether there's a chance the park is going to get to capacity?

My boys want to swim. I learned last time that it is too cold to swim at night, so I promised that this trip we'd go swimming during the day at least once. I just don't want to leave and not be able to get back in to the parks.

Also, will the hand stamps survive the water? I won't swim (too much hassle what with contacts, make-up, etc) during the day, so my stamp would be okay. Will pool water wash off the stamp? If so, will they let us back in as long as my stamp is still there?

Details, details! :confused3

TIA!

Cant answer as to the letting you back in question. However the hand stamps do survive the water as long as it isn't a super long swim and they aren't scrubbing it off. As long as they can see part of it and mom and dad are stamped you should be fine :) Hope someone can answer the capacity question for you! :)

I have done high capacity days (all of them NYE ;) ). There are different levels to what Disney does when certain levels of crowds hit. The first is then most common which is where they stop selling any tickets for one park if you have not entered this park earlier in the day you will not be able to get in later (always DL), then they will stop selling tickets at all, and only at the most insane will they block entrance to a park. The last one is never permanent the gate will reopen once enough people leave the park.

Since you will most likely be getting to the parks early you will enter with no issues. I don't know 100% about hotel guests, but it sounds right that they will be able to enter into the parks if ticket sales have stopped. As long as your ticket shows you are a Premium AP, have a ticket that shows entrance to the park earlier in the day or are a hotel guest (again not 100%) you will be able to get back into the park unless step three hits, then you will have to check back. BTW I think the 3rd step only happens near midnight on NYE and other wise rarely ever!

I would enjoy your break and not worry :)

on Dec. 27, 2007 me and my mom saw a big sign that said Disneyland closed do to capacity limit, like the above posters have said, trust me, those hand stamps are pretty sturdy:). Sorry that I can't inform ya on the capacity levels but I think you got all your info. have an awesome time:)

I will let my boys swim without worrying about this!!!

Thanks so much!

Beth
