Question about walk-up at Chef Mickeys

I have been trying for 2 months to get a reservation at Chef Mickeys and am told they are booked. We are early birds anyhow, so we wanted to try doing a 7 a.m. walkup. In the past the guard at the Contemporary has needed our confirmation number to let us into the parking lot.

Will we be able to tell him we are going to try for a walk-up or will they make us take the monorail from the ticket and transportation center? I can't imagine going through all that hassle and possibly be turned away.

You can go without problem in the contemporary with your car, they only will ask to show your key to the world and you tell that you want to know the resort for an upcoming trip or to buy somthing in the lobby shops you will enter without problems, we visit the contemporary every trip with our car and never have a problem before 11 pm, after that they only allow the entry of the people staying at the contemporary. have a magical weekend
