Question about waitlist

Hi, renting points-we wanted Boardwalk 2 bedroom for end of July-Aug. for 5 nights. If it's not available, we said CC as our 2nd choice. Can the person who owns the points book CC, then waitlist Boarwalk, and if Boardwalk becomes available, it will automatically switch the reservation over to Boardwalk, is that how it works?

Yes, that's how it should work. It's just a question of whether the owner can set up a waitlist for your request. Owners are limited to 2 existing waitlists per use year and if they have already created 2 waitlists, they would have to either cancel one or wait until one of the existing waitlists fills.

Ok, I just spoke to him, he booked WL and we're waitlisted for the BW. Yesterday all 5 days were available, now 2 out of the 5 are not, not sure what our chances are, but finger's crossed. We do love WL too, we just haven't stayed at the BW in awhile, thank you! I have to say, I'm not an owner, but the waitlist is a nice choice to have, and that it goes over to the waitlist automatically, I think is a great feature.

I know this is very very hypothetical question-what do you think our chances are BW comes through? Its for a 2 bedroom July 31-Aug. 5th. 2 of those days are gone as of today, thoughts??? I know there is no sure way to tell, just wondering what you experienced diser's think!

All 2BR villas at BWV are lockoffs (a studio + 1BR). That means that both a 1BR and studio have to be available for all 5 of your nights in order for the waitlist to fill. On top of that, BWV has 3 different views (standard, boardwalk and pool/garden). So, it's not just a matter of a Studio and a 1BR becoming available for all 5 nights. It's a matter of a studio + a 1BR opening up, both in the view category for which the waitlist has been set up. While not impossible, it is a tall order to fill. Hopefully, the waitlist is for the pool/garden view. It has the most villas, so your chances are higher.

ok thanks, yes it is pool/garden view. We'll just wait and see what happens, thank you! I had also thought of Riviera since you can take the skyliner to Epcot and HS, but that's quite a few more points. The first few nights we're at BL, thought staying around Crescent Lake would make for a nice split stay (Beach club has been booked for awhile)
