Question about traveling to AKL after MNSSHP

My family of five will check out of BWV (staying on points, which are too high on Fridays) and into AKL for the last night of our stay, which will be the first Friday of MNSSHP. We plan on waking early that day, making our move to AKL and then enjoy the pool, resort and getting an afternoon nap before going to MK. My question is how is the transportation back to AKL if we make it close to midnight? Would we be better off if we were staying at WL? (We have never stayed there and only stayed at AKL once before and loved it). I could change our ressies if it makes a big difference.... Any help is appreciated.

Transportation to AKL is pretty much the same as transportation to WL. It'll take longer, obviously, to get back to AKL, since it's farther away, but it's not like there are a hundred busses to WL and only one to AKL. You'll be on a bus longer and you'll make a couple of stops. That's about it. I wouldn't change my entire plan because of that.

Am I right in that WL transportation from MK is by boat? Does that make a difference? Will both modes of transportation be running up to and past the 12 midnight end of MNSSHP? Thanks in advance for any input.

What stops do the AKL buses make between MK and AKL? I don't remember them making any stops (well, except for red lights...)

At night, the AKL bus won't have any stops. During the day, it stops sometimes at Blizzard Beach.

I wonder if by staying at WL you can also take the monorail or walk to CR and take their boat to WL? That's something to consider too...you know who would know the exact answer, Chip and Dale who was a Disney bus driver. He frequents the Transportation board.

If my last night was a party night and I was switching to another hotel for only one night, I'd pick a monorail resort or the WLV. That would make it SO convenient, IMHO.

I wouldn't walk from WL to CR at night, in costume. Or even if you're just in regular "tourist clothes." There's not a huge network of sidewalks in that area, and guests are encouraged not to walk between resorts because of this.

There is boat and monorail from CR. Boat and bus from WL. Bus from AKL.

Again, I wouldn't change resorts simply to be 15 minutes closer to home after the party. UNLESS, as beattyfamily said, I was switching to a monorail resort.

That is not what I meant. He asked about AFTER the party. I thought maybe (if the boat between CR and WL is running that late) he could walk FROM MK to CR or take the monorail to CR and then take the boat at CR to WL. That is what I meant.

All Disney transportation to resorts (bus, monorail, boat) runs for a full hour after the parks close or MNSSHP ends.

The boat does not run to WL late enough on MNSSHP nights..we made that mistake once..won't every do it again. Wilderness lodge was a nightmare to get back to. We had to take the monorail to TTC and then the bus back..we waited forever.

I thought Blizzard Beach was on the MGM route for AKL, not the MK route...

I thought the transportation from WL was awful. We've never had a problem at AKL though.
