Question about tickets

I am new to these boards so please excuse me if I'm posting to the wrong one. We have not been to Disney since 2005 and I have a question about non expiring tickets I bought back then. We have three adult tickets and one child ticket that have one day left on them, can I still use these tickets even though it's been so long ago? They said when we bought them that they would never expire but things change as we all know. The child ticket was for my oldest son but he is now considered an adult ticket by Disney, can he still use the child ticket or can I pay the difference? I hope I was clear enough so you all could help me. Thanks!

No-expiry tickets never expire. Any days that are remaining on those tickets are still good. You will want to exchange them for RFID-enabled tickets at Guest Services so that you can use them for FP+. You can have your son's ticket switched to a "age 10+" ticket at the same time. Disney will not penalize a child for growing up, so there should be no charge for doing this. Just have your son with you when you make the change.

You must visit Guest Relations at one of the parks or DTD before using these tickets to enter a park. They will switch them to RFID tickets in order to be used at the park entry Mickey Head "tapstiles." As long as your old tickets have been used, there will be no charge to change the child ticket to an adult ticket. But they do have to see your child, to see the progression of the "child from 2005" vs the "10+ adult of today." (There've been people who weren't upfront about the supposed child under age 10 from 2 years ago and an older teenage young man today.)

FYI, if your child's ticket had never been used, and you presented it for exchange to an adult ticket, Disney would charge for the change, plus for all the ticket increases over the years since you originally bought the ticket. In that case, it would be better to give away/sell the ticket for someone else's child.

If your vacation calls for more than 3 days in the theme parks then it is better to not use the old tickets.

For a 1 to 3 day vacation each old ticket day is worth nearly $100.

For a longer vacation, buying a smaller ticket and using an old ticket for a day saves about twelve dollars.
