Question about tickets --- Park Hopper vs. Regular

We went last November (fantastic trip!!!) - we had the Park Hopper and Waterparks +++ tickets. Here's the thing - we didn't really end up "hopping" all that much and only went to Typhoon Lagoon one day (excellent water fun! ) . Anyway, I am attempting to squeeze in another trip later this year and it has to be as inexpensive as possible. I am thinking of just getting the regular Magic Your Way tickets. We could do a day at the water park for $130 (2 adults , 2 kids) just buying tickets there (I think I am reading this right - please correct me if I'm wrong ), so thats less than adding the water parks on our regular tickets. My question is this - can you leave the parks and come back with the regular ticket ? I know it has to be the same park but if we left say, Epcot, for a swim/naps could we re-enter Epcot that evening? Also - is it literally days that the tickets are for, or is it admissions? For example, if we have an 8-day ticket and decide not to use one of our days because we spend the day at Typhoon Lagoon on Wednesday and the kids are too exhausted to go out that night could we "double up" on Thursday? Say go to MGM in the AM and then Magic Kingdom at night , using up two "days" --- or is it just once you go in the morning your ticket won't work at all at another park? Lastly, if you can "double up" could I buy one or two extra days - say a 10 day rather than an 8 day just in case we'd want to do something different at night? The thing with that is that I am painfully honest and would never want to cheat Disney in ANY WAY so if that would be against their policies I wouldn't even consider it. Thats why I am wondering if a 10 day Magic Your Way ticket is literally for 10 DAYS or if it is for 10 ADMISSIONS. We actually ended up wasting a day of our ticket last time because we didn't have a chance to go into the parks on the day of our flight as we had hoped to. So I am trying to figure things out more realistically this time. Thanks so much for any input. :wizard:

With a non-hopper ticket you can exit and reenter the same park that day. A 10 day ticket is for 10 DAYS, not 10 ADMISSIONS.

The system will deny you admission to the second park you try to enter in the same day, unless you have a real park hopper.

Thanks - I kind of figured this out after I submitted it - it wouldn't make sense because I guess it would technically be hopping. Good to know. Thanks again!
