Hi

How is the tap water in WDW? Is it safe and how does it taste?

If it's half decent I thinK I'll jsut bring a water bottle from home and Crystal Light drink mix.

Thanks
AFL

i think alone it tastes pretty bad. but i added stuff like crystal light, and thought it was just fine. we brought down a 24 pack with us in an extra suitcase, took a cold one each morning, then filled it with disney water + crystal light type stuff when we finished the "first" bottle. worked out pretty well. and saved money instead of buying new bottles every time.

The water around Walt Disney World is actually decent. It works well for Crystal Light and coffee/tea, as well. The only place it isn't any good is in the Magic Kingdom!! EEWWW!! Make sure to get bottled drinks there!! I don't know what the problem is, but I can't get it past my tongue. I get a fountain soda when I first get there, hoping that the problem has been resolved - but it's still nasty stuff.

We have very hard (mineral-laden) water in Central Florida. The water is all pure and meets or exceeds all water safety standards.

At home I have a whole-house water softener and my refrigerator has ice cubes and chilled water that has passed trhough a filter (which has to be replaced about every six months) and so has no funny tastes.

At WDW the water fountains do have large filters which are replaced often which does take a lot of the taste (and minerals) out.

I usually fly down enough water bottles.

This Nov however Im going solo for 2 wks. The water weighs too much to split among only 2 suitcases. I'll be bringing a few bottles but mostly using a Brita bottle.

I've never gotten sick from the water at WDW, but I prefer bottled water, so I plan to stop and buy a case or two of water on my way in from the airport.

Since we rent a car I always stop on the way to purchase a case of water and snacks before we get to the world.

I have an aversion to paying large amounts for 'glorified' tap water in a bottle. If I have to drink water (I prefer coffee) then I will just add something to it and save the money for some other Disney thing! :thumbsup2
