Question about the value season rates/2007

I'm planning a trip for next summer. I am the one in the family obsessing about it, but I'll be doing all of the work too! I'm a little disappointed in rates. The Mousesavers (credit given to Small World Travel) lists the value season rates for 2007 going into affect August 5th, so I was planning on that as our first day. I looked on Disney's site, and also emailed AAA for a quote (not available until August) and they have value season starting on August 27th. I teach and I have two teenagers, so we have to go during the summer. Any ideas why there's such a discrepancy?

I'm sure I'll be asking more questions as I obsess!

You're looking at this year's rates -- 2006. In 2007, the value season does start on 8/5 (this year it's 8/27). If you're trying to get package prices, they're not out for 2007 yet. Should be sometime in August. That might be what's throwing off your quotes.

Correct me if I am wrong, but from the DIS main page I found that the Value Season varies depending on the resort. Value at the deluxes begins July 8th.

I really hope this is right cause its how I talked DH into a split stay with our last 2 nights at AKL!!

Thanks, Brermama, for pointing out my error. I guess the AAA agent did the same think I did and looked at this year's rates.

Value season does start earlier for Deluxe's, but with two teens and college on the way, they're still a bit pricey for us!

I'm hoping that AAA will be able to give some sort of discount on a package at ASMu family suites. I've read that the AAA discount doesn't apply for any of the suites.

I'm a teacher who is waiting for 2007 packages rates for the family suites, too. I was debating renewing our AAA (we bought a new vehicle and it has full roadside assistance, so it's not really needed), but with no AAA discounts on suites, I don't think it's worth it for us. Of course, you do realize that staying in the cheapest room at the Contemporary in July is not that much more than staying in a Family Suite for the same time period, right? Oh, the agony of trying to choose a resort when the rates have yet to be released.
