We leave on Dec. 5th for our first ever cruise. We're planning to do the Catamaran Sail and Reef Snorkeling in Nassau. It is recommended for children 6 and up. Our 6-year old has had one summer of swimming lessons, but we're a little nervous about how she'll do in the open water. She uses a snorkel and mask in a pool, but never in the open ocean.
Has anyone else taken a child that young with little swimming experience snorkeling on the reef? Are they allowed to wear a lifevest? Or will one of us end up sitting on the boat with her while everyone else enjoys the snorkeling?
Any help with this question would certainly be appreciated.
